Rear Quarter and Side Skirt in Body Colour

Not for everyone I know but really didn't like the black rear quarters and side skirts. So took them off and down to the body shop. Really pleased with the result.

For anyone else interested it was reasonably easy to get both the quarters and side skirts off - just lots of plastic clips (so no metal tools !!) Trickiest part was the two clips holding the rear quarters by the rear reflector - you need to ease them out from the inside having started off at the rear.

I think the guy on Backyard Boyz did this to his M240i rebuild. It does look better. 👍🏼

My 240iX is Alpine White. I think the black side rocker panels makes the entire car look higher off the ground. Probably not as noticeable with darker colors.

Anyone willing to share the cost for such a procedure? I am going to talk to my local wrap shop to see if its something they would be willing to do rather than paint if its cheaper

$1600 for me. They took off all the pieces, prepped, painted them and reinstalled. Car was in the shop for five days.

To be honest - nowadays, that's not a bad price.

Only major downside is being without your car for 5 days.

I had work done on another vehicle there and I liked the quality of their work. I am sure if I brought it somewhere else it might have taken less time but I wanted it done right.
