Blow off Valve Gurus, please chime in....

Okay if you have nothing contribute to this thread, please, spare the forum's bandwidth by turning the other cheek....i know this mod is not for everyone...but for those that want it for the sound, it is a nice and decently cheap mod...

Does this look like it'll fit? if it's too long i can cut the pipe and use silicone hose and clamps to connect the pipes together...what do you guys think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-B...89293077QQrdZ1

that's the auction

This is the one that Iraxi is using...seems like it's similar in length, just have to bend the piping another way to get it to fit...

There's no way to determine if the tube will fit just by looking at it. There is so many factors here, ie the actual diameter of the tube, along with the length itself. IMO, worst comes worst, you go to a muffler shop to have them custom make one for you.

No insight on how or if the blow off valve would fit. Just wanted to comment that I love the sound and currently my car is having some glitches. Once I get them fixed by the dealership, I will get the procede and most definitely the BOV.

K, this one will do the trick...it's made for an HKS SSQV, i need to get an elbow type coupler and a couple silicone piping coupler and the installation can begin...

Expect a DIY from me next week when the weather finally warms up...

Yeah i can get a universal HKS BOV but the only tricky part is welding the flange onto the piping itself...need to find an adapter or something so it can sit on it...

Blue Label, a BOV is totally useless in terms of performance, all it does is release pressure when you shift and it makes a nice waaaaaaaaaaah PST sound...some say it's not classy on a BMW, but those fools are haters and should realize a 335i is a regular 3 series and not an Aston Martin or something...

Tuners like myself like to tinker with turbos, and having a turbo car, BOV is almost mandatory..

here's one on a 335i...with more boost the sound is even more audible, and it sounds wicked in person

I prefer this over the greddy one, as the greddy one have a long swooooosh sounds that remind me of a queef...

From that 1st pic you would have to cut and weld the pipe to make it fit, and have the bends that you would need. I would just go with a kit that is off the shelf, since the UR kit isn't too unreasonably priced. Your second idea is much better as long as you can get silicone couplers in the length/bend that you need. Let us know how you make out.

Yup, these are the things necessary for a custom fit...i'll do a step by step DIY on this mod...save you guys 500 bucks from buying from Active...which wants 750 bucks for a friggin' BOV, ridiculous...

I'm on the Ultimate-Racing page, and I was wondering what the difference between their kits were. Like their Regular Kit, the TiAL, and the HKS SSQV one?

Which one's the loudest :$ lol

^ The HKS and the Tial have different designs, which also cause them to have totally different sounds. If you want to draw the most attention to your car then go with the HKS that will give you a loud (and annoying IMO) whistle psst sound, while the Tial (I am a big fan of these) will give a large angry woosh of air.

Hhaha you guys are too funny...

This thing helps a lot of high boosted cars, like a built supra, to release pressure to the turbos...it does little to nothing for our cars...and yes, this is the metal snake thing that makes a WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH PSSSSHT noise when you shift...scare little kids and old people away

this thread almost makes me want to keep my car quiet

such n00bness when it comes to BOVs. I think I'll just dump the stock one or put a pipe in with a Tial...I happen to be a big fan of them.
