0-60 in 4.529 and 4.54 at 4500 feet.
Just got my m6 reps with 275's put on my procede e90 yesterday. Did about 10 runs on the same road 0-60. Temp was 55. Elevation about 4500.
My two best runs were 4.529 and 4.54. My worst run was 4.84. These new tires hook up very good. I have less slip with procede and 275 ps2's then I did without procede and the stock runflats. My two best runs were in either direction on the same road. I have AT. This in on shell 91. On my best two runs it said my 60' was 2.030 and 2.050. On the runs at 4.8 it was more like 2.150-2.2. I have no idea how some of you are breaking 2 seconds in the 60'. I would go into manual mode an start out in M1. I brake torqued to about 2k and launched at WOT. I would then shift when I saw the tach hit about 5k in first gear which would result in shifting taking place at about 62-6400 RPM (Maybe my reaction time is slow but this seemed to work best). The times I let it shift itself at about 6800 rpm my best times were 4.8 so I think it's better in our cars to shift a bit before redline. I'm assuming this is because we have less boost up top and I'm also assuming at 4500 feet, I have even less boost up top then another proceded 335i would at sea level. If anyone has some different ideas about how to launch more effectively let me know. I have 110 octane Dirt bike race gas I was going to mix with my 91 and see if I notice a difference. Do you guys think this would be ok in my car? In comparison, when my car was stock, on the same stretch of road, with a temp within 5 degrees, my best run was 4.87, but I was only able to break 5 this one time out of about 15 runs. Most of them stock were more like 5.1-5.2. |

Proceed is a program (flashes the CPU) that remaps fuel air mixture & increasing boost by about 2PSI. Its designed for gasoline 335s here in the U.S.
Results will vary ideally you want a cold air intake, proceed, and aftermarket exhaust. It will be intresting to see what the additional two pounds of boost would do the the engine components...thats another topic GO CATS www.ksu.edu |

Stupid question, but which device were you using to measure your speed/time?
Nice tip about shifting at 5,000 to target a shift at 62-4. In M1 at WOT I expect you have to be pretty quick on the draw to hit a targeted rev with a shift.

This may sound stupid, but I assume you disabled all the performance hindrance safety features on the car? I also wonder if you did a run with just DTC illuminated, which i read gave someone less slip and a better 0-60 run? Lastly, am I reading your post correctly that you got better times manually shifting in sport mode rather than automatic shifting in sport mode? Tx.

I did a Google search and Procede is a hair replacement drug like minoxidil, so maybe it helps you grow hair on your roundels, therefore helping you put your foot down harder on the accelerator pedal....

I pushed DTC once, so that it was illuminated on the dash. This seems to work best for launching. Yes, I shift manually in sport mode because the optimal shift point on a proceeded 335i is about 6400 rpm depending on elevation. This was when you go from one gear to another, your rpm after the shift is about 4600, whereas is you let it shift itself at about 6900 rpm, after the shift, your at about 5000 rpm. If you look at a dyno, the power dips off quickly after 6500 rpm, because the turbos run out of air and can't hit more then 10psi at that rpm. For example, my dyno was about 310 RWHP at 5300 rpm, at 5000 ft. elevation. At sea level the peak HP would be at about 5800 rpm. If you compare shifting this way vs letting it shift itself, in my car, at about 4500 ft elevation, shifting itself results in 0-60 in 4.8, and shifting it myself at about 6400 rpm results in 0-60 in 4.5. |

Is your car the coupe or sedan? Also, what tires are you using? Tx.
P.S., you may want to check out Technokid's recent post on best shift points--he says 1st gear redline, 2nd redline, 3rd gear 6700 and 4th gear 6400. Walkedu is going to try this out and post some 0-60 times. You might consider it as well. |

Sedan with AT. I have m6 reps with 275 ps2's rear. BTW, I lost about 35 lbs unsprung weight total with my rim/tire combo vs the stock zsp runflat/18's |

Good point re the procede. Still, it would be interesting to try some variation in shift points to see how it affects the time.
