08/22/2023 received an allocation and customized order.
10/21/23 changed color to frozen grey(had to be approved by regional rep)
Was told build time would be delayed due to color choice and carbon pack(bucket seats etc)

I placed a 5000$ deposit ( was told non refundable)

Slated for production 11/2023

12/30/2023 informed build date push 1-2 months again due to color.

01/08/2024 backed out of deal, desposit fully refunded.

03/20/2024 advised that vehicle arrived at dealer. Worked out a deal at 4% off MSRP and free rubber mats.

Went ahead and purchased and took delivery yesterday. Was meant to be I guess!

The build week is just going off of which week of the year it is scheduled to begin. So a "week 4 build" would be the 4th week of the year, so typically the last week of January. I was mainly told this info from the Genius phone line when I called in.

The status codes are just internal codes for what stage of the process your vehicle is in. The most comprehensive list I've found is in the link below, although I never saw more than half of these codes. The list in the link was last updated in 2010, so maybe there's a more updated list.

I found this pretty good list of codes

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...27&postcount=9

And you can see your code with the chrome extension "mygarage chrome trick", once you hit either scheduled for production or production begins you click the extension button while on the mygarage tracking page and it will give you info

Sales Advisor dropped the ball several times. He didn't put it into the system for 2023, then the model changed to 2024 and allegedly the order got lost in the system. Had to remind him several times, then the carbon package delay... it wasn't pleasant. I spoke 5 words to him when I picked up the car. Bad experience with sales person, good with finance person.

I can't imagine how I'd feel if this happened the way you described...

Oh man - that's rough. Not a good experience for sure. But, glad you got your car *finally! Congrats!

Hello M2 community. I have an m340i on order but I believe it’s built in Mexico with the M2s. It hit final assembly on 3/27 and from reading some threads it seems like that’s where the status gets stuck until you get a ship. My port is Brunswick, but is there any way to figure out when my car will get on a ship?

Once you’ve gotten an allocation, the final assembly/ready for transport step is the toughest to gauge how long it will take.

I hit final assembly on Feb 28th and ready for transport on Mar 4th. I was notified by my CA on Mar 26th that my car was on a ship. I confirmed it online and by calling BMW genius. Genius actually told me my car was put on a ship days earlier, on the 22nd.

Long story short, you won’t know when you’ll be on a ship until you’re already on it. It was the worst part of the wait.

I'd say conservatively your car should be at the port within 2 weeks, right now it's "released to sales" so it's built and getting it's paperwork and prepped for shipment etc, then it's a unknown timeframe on getting a ship once at the port but should assume it'll be a couple weeks. Can watch the brunswick port's schedule for incoming ships and look them up on tracking sites to see if they're a good fit once you're at the port waiting, veracruz is the port used in mexico.

The world is so topsy turvy as far as manufacturing and such. I remember ordering my
E92 M3 back in 2013 and it only took 3.5 mos. from ordering to delivery and the car came from Germany, not Mexico.

Mine is scheduled for beginning of May, apart from known sad news of no longer hotel accommodation, I also got to know that Factory tour is unavailable until late 24 as well…well, at least we get to drive some course and get the car delivered right?

Yeah! I've done the PCD experience for events before and taking my son this time. I don't think we will be able to drive any cars since he's under 18, but he's never seen the place before and we will have a great weekend in Greenville.

Appears my car was unloaded from the Glovis Crystal yesterday at the Baltimore port, went status 193 (at the port) and Glovis appears headed off to the NY/NJ port. Being in New England my cars have always delivered to the NY port....but hey, progress.

That’s strange. I just checked my status and it also says “at the port.” I didnt bother checking yesterday, since I wasn’t expecting it to change from “in transit,” so I don’t know if it changed yesterday or today. Right now, the ship is anchored in Philly.

I was told by my CA weeks ago (and it’s listed on the order sheet) that I’m supposed to get off at the NY/NJ port on April 6th. I’m in Connecticut.

I am getting MP HAS installed at the port. I wonder if that has affected anything. Either way, it’s almost here.

I was having that same thought - maybe they are distributing "workload" on all these MPHAS port installs?

Mine was unloaded at Brunswick port on 4/1 and I was notified by my SA on 4/3 that the car is eligible to schedule for PCD. I have HAS kit and my understanding is it’s only eligible for scheduling a date with Performance Center once the work order is finished by VPC at port. So it basically just took…2 days for them to complete, which sounds to me is really impressively fast (or they have forgotten lol).

Placed a build order 10 days ago for a new M2 manual trans. Can anyone who's truly knowledgeable on this tell me if it'll be a 2024 or 2025 model year? Also ordered carbon roof and the optional $650 black paint plus other relatively minor options...

Hoping for a 2025 car as more power and likely a few other tweaks are strongly rumored...
