Shipping blocks!?!?
Just picked up the car and it rides stiff. Is the blue plastic on the suspension shipping blocks?

Just curious, does the car appear to be sitting higher than normal when these are still installed?

Thanks for sharing the pic. Now I know what to look for when taking delivery. Hope they removed before any damage was done.

I wish dealers would offer a zero touch pre-delivery option where they leave all protective plastics and everything on. I get there are things like these shipping blocks that require a decent amount of intervention (relative to what the average consumer can handle) but I have next to no faith in dealers not doing stuff like this or putting some dealer installed swirl marks on brand new cars.

Definitely! Here are some I can think of:
1. Shipping blocks (blue) 2. Rear caliper M badge clips 3. Front fender alignment with headlight and hood (front corner) 4. Secure tow hook cap 5. Secure rear diffuser 6. “M2” logo on both seats (one car apparently had one M4 badge lol) 7. Plastic guard present right on top of front radiators? (May not be there for some, especially if automatic transmission but this is just a theory) |

No clue how that is even possible given that the G82 M4 is produced in Germany. FYI, G42/G87 seat production is in Mexico. The seats are not imported from the EU. Exception, the carbon buckets. Last edited by T_U_D; 08-20-2023 at 01:55 PM.. |

Can you please explain more about their function? Others have said that they’re just cosmetic and I was not sure. Could not having them installed cause vibration and a tendency for more brake squeak?

Half the service advisors and techs I speak with cannot answer my questions. I will do some digging online.
