The ///M badge clips on the caliper are purely cosmetic. They only touch the mounting point on the caliper carrier and have enough space between them and the brake pad backing plate to fit a finger. The anti-rattle clips are separate and fit on the ends of the pads.

To be honest, when I looked carefully at mine it looks like it’s just there for cosmetic purposes.. it’s just a thing that clips on and I suspect it serves no other function other than to display the M badge. I could be wrong

The other half isn’t on the forums. It’s simple to find them in the dealers.

My rear calipers don't have an M badge 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don't see any shipping blocks which is really all I care about.

The vast majority of service advisors are mechanically illiterate. They only know what a technician tells them.

The OP had taken delivery of a G87, this must be a mistake.

Yeah I messaged them and asked why they moved it but no reply yet. I’m sure it was a misunderstanding but i want it to go back where others taking delivery of a g87 m2 can see it.

No, based on the brakes on my E36 M3 the anti-rattle / squeal clips are the silver things in the picture.

The M appears to be a cosmetic clip added to the caliper, where you see the hole in the red one in the upper photo.

So, yeah, if they forget or they ran out of parts that day, you could be missing them.

So is this verified to be the shipping blocks? I can't see the front of my car, but the rear clearly has them on my car. If true would explain the crappy ride for me.

I contacted the dealer and showed them this photo:

and they confirmed it is the shipping spacers. I can't see the front well enough but seem them on both of the rear suspension. Trying to figure out next steps.

Question for those with port installed MP Sport Suspension (HAS)....do they put shipping blocks on those? I don't think these blue things will fit with a HAS.
