Expected working life of a ps3/360?

So I have just this morning ordered a new ps3 aswell as xbox 360 because my original versions which were both bought at launch died on me recently (happened to be in the same month!).

So basically ps3 lasted 4 and half years and xbox did me 5 and a half years.

On the ps3 the blu ray drive went and xbox just freezes on startup no red lights.

Just curious to see if my originals did me well compared to others.

Yeah buddy def sounds like they've done u well, especially the 360- I thought their life span was 2 years before rrod started kicking in.

My Ps3 (fat 80gb) has given me 3 years so far with no probs

My first xbox 360 lasted me 10 months, the next one 4 months, and than another after 6 months. Than traded it in for PS3 and thats now coming up to been 4 years old. Recently bought the "new" 360 slim, which is suppose to be much more reliable, 6 months now and still working so far

Yeah seems 3-4 years is pretty good out of them. If you look at in terms of cost per hour it would equate to something silly like 0.001 of a penny per hour given the amount of time I have been glued to them lol. Thats why I didn't think twice about ordering them both again.

Mine didn't last long (Xbox360) used it like once a month and it's dead after only what 3-4 years.
