DVD Unreadable When Cold, Slow iDrive

I find that when the temperature is below 4C (approx 40F) that my iDrive says 'Insert DVD'... basically can't read the DVD until it warms up. Anyone else seen this before? Any fix to this?

Also, I've found navi to be significantly slower lately when cold...

I have experienced the same problem in the past, I usually eject the DVD and insert it again and it works. Anybody else? Solutions?

I had the same problem. The dealer said that my drive was bad and that it needs to be replaced. Total cost was quoted to me as $800 including labor. They are doing that as I type.

wow I thought I was the only one with that issue. yeah I'm not replacing my drive for 800. I'd rather save up and do the CIC retrofit.
