Pandora / CCC Navigation / iOS5
Hey Group,
Perhaps I'm a bit behind the ball, but this morning I decided to connect my iPhone to the iPod connector in the center console and connect to Pandora. It's been probably over 5 months since I have done so, as I use an old 16Gb 3S as my iPod player. Not sure if it's an iOS5 update, but now when I play pandora, the song track and artist appear on the CCC screen - the system creates a new line item in the shown playlist with the Pandora info. Also, the track forward button works to skip to the next Pandora track - before it would switch the Pandora back to the iPod, and play the next iPod track. Previously, the only way for me to change to the next track in Pandora was on the phone directly. It's great to see BMW/iPhone continuously improving their integration, especially with the older BMW systems. Sorry if this is old news, but it's new to me |

I don't think this has much to do with BMW but more the way the iPhone iOS 5 and pandora is working. BMW hasn't touched that CCC idrive software in years.

iOS 5 added bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 profile.
Apparently, however, BMW MAP profile support is only available in CIC.15 and later which was introduced with the 2011 and later models, AFAIK. |

Not sure! Have the latest iOS5 and Pandora versions on my iP4. Y cable with the ipod option on my 07 with iDrive. No recent update to the vehicle software.
Besides making sure you're using the latest software, nothing else was required. BTW, I make sure to manually close the Music (iPod) app on the phone to avoid the swapping problem. I posted in another thread about preventing Pandora from being taken over by the iPod when plugging into the car. |
