That can't possibly be right unless you had like multiple speeding tickets and car accidents or something that would drive that cost up. It shouldn't be more than $150 or so to insure this car.

The BMW oil change interval is shorter in North America where the cost is covered by BMW, compared with Europe where it isn’t. The standard European change interval is 2 years and a CBS distance of around 27,000km (17,000 miles) compared with 16,000km (10,000 miles) and 1 year in Canada and the US. This long change interval for BMWs in Europe has been the case for over 20 years now.

BMW is the norm with these longer intervals. Porsche is similar, too.

Plenty of high speed use on the Autobahn without any trend in engine problems with the BMW specified oil and change intervals over the years.

1 or 2 DUI would certainly elevate the premium. (hiccup)

I don't know, good insurance coverage is pretty expensive these days. Especially with the high cost of repair and replacement with these cars. I'm 43 years old, clean driving record, great credit, and my car is listed as "leisure driving" or whatever the lowest mileage setting is and my premium is still $185/month bundled with my homeowners policy. I think I could get closer to 150 or so a month with a cut-rate coverage plan which I don't want.

But for sure the OP's quote is really high for some reasons not disclosed.

The same oils and part numbers are available, although BMW in the EU tend to specify the 0w30 oil that is only used in diesels in North America in the G8x S58s (83212365951), with the 83212365950 0w30 oil normally specified for gasoline engines.

Its 2 years/30,000km here in Germany. I will be changing at the next winter tires application - so about 18 months. A few months early. Modern oils are able to sustain this. Too many people waste money on early oil changes, especially those not tracking in a significant way.

Try moving to South Florida and let me know what it does to your insurance premium.

Dude, there's still no way a G87 is $500 a month to insure, unless you're hammered, driving by brail every night. My insurance doubled to like $160 recently and I think that's way too expensive. I shopped around and found that State Farm can cut it down to less than $100 a month. I'm with All State currently.

Fyi my premium with State Farm increased 40% over my last 2 renewals after being 1/2 of what my Allstate premium was. I fully expect my premium to increase again at my July renewal. Clean driving records, A+ credit, 3 vehicles plus home insured with them.

I am just under $6k annually for both the MY23 M240 and MY23 G87. That is switching from Travelers that went from just iver $6k to over $9k for my March renewall.

35-40k....I would put atleast 50% down. Im not paying 1k+ on a monthly payment.

Thats just what the insurance is the car in my area. Im 27 , I had a lapse in coverage due to negligence from a previous agent so thats contributing to it some. It might drop down a bit after I've had coverage for 6 months. I was quoted $330 for a M240I.

You must be over the age of 35 and in a low claim rate area. My 2018 mustang ecoboost was $140 a month back in 2019. I've never been in an accident and my last speeding ticket was in 2020.

I'm 27, thats just want the insurance is going to cost. I had a coverage lapse thats causing issues but the insurance is going to be high regardless. Its not going to be under $300.

I canceled my deposit because I'm having issues finding affordable coverage or a company to cover me due to the lapse.....I'll have to try to buy in July /August

You do know insurance premiums have increased 20% yearly for the past 3 years right ?

If you're paying $160, you must be in your late 30s/40s and in a low claim rate area. I was paying $140 for a 4 cylinder mustang in 2019.

Any car thats not a honda is a Lamborghini to an insurance company.

LOL!!!
Using a battery tender will extend the life of your battery and pay for itself.

don't take this the wrong way, but you are 27, with a ticket, and a lapse in coverage. you are not exactly a super low risk demo with a brand new M2.

if being lucky to see 27, a speeding ticket from 4 years ago, and a 30 day lapse in coverage due to selling the car the policy covered.

Yes, I can see how being alive makes me high risk
