Right Exhaust Not Getting Hot
Ive created a new thread for this as I have driven today for an hour with these settings and the right drivers side exhaust was stone cold
Im presuming the flap should of opened up after an hour of motorway driving, i deliberately left it in this setting to make the flaps open. Where the flap located would this welding i had done be anywhere near the laps and casued it to stick?

I was loading something in the trunk today, my individual settings are the same as yours just damp on comfort. Anyway I could hear exhaust sound coming out from both sides.

Make sure iconic sounds is turned on. The exhaust valve will open on the right side

When you first start the car and it is loud but then after 20 seconds goes quite, is that the flaps closing? Is that a way to test they are working? |

If you have iconic sounds on then put the car in sport plus. Go to the passenger side exhaust and you should hear and feel the flap open. Sometimes it can take about 20-30 seconds. Post a pic of the exhaust pipe from the passenger side of the car. Maybe they messed up the piping when they welded on the tips as it looks like the decreased the size of the piping. If they did that too close to the flap then it would essentially get stuck. Granted I would expect that to throw a code but who knows. |

As mentioned, once the idle drops you can clearly hear the flap opening and closing just by toggling between comfort mode and sport mode.

Yep works fine, could even see water droplets being blown out of it this morning due to the cold
I suppose I'm so used to thinking the worst I went straight for the exhaust centre welding the flap up first Still I'm supprised it was cold to touch, not even slightly warm after an hour of driving.

Stupid question maybe....
Was the left side hot? Or is there a difference between right/left? Which seems strange if there is... |

Tried to do the same check yesterday after running with engine in sport+.
Admittedly I have standard tips, not a big fan of 4 tips u less it really is an M! Neither side was particularly warm. Not sure what the exhaust outlet temperature is at the tip,, might not be that high, especially under relatively light loads... the turbo and all the aftertreatment the exhaust gas is passing through will probably reduce temps by a few hundred degrees. Might be different if you were on a track with consistent high loads. |
