-= BimmerTech - Backup camera retrofit with OEM integration =-
Dear fellow members,
We would like to share with you some information on our upcoming BimmerTech Backup camera kit with full OEM integration. Technically speaking we could release this retrofit a few months ago, but due to high volume of orders we need to process each day and our engagement in the F-series coding, programming and retrofitting R&D we had to postpone it until now. What is it? The Backup camera kit we will start offering shortly will be fully integrated with the CIC iDrive the same way as the OEM camera option. It will be 100% PnP - no need to cut or tap into a single wire. When you put you car in reverse you will see the view from the camera installed in rear of the car including the guiding lines. How is it different from other solutions? - Integrates with the CIC - 100% PnP kit consisting of factory made aftermarket parts - Remote coding to enable the OEM camera option is required and included - Great value for money - Optional installation in one of our facilities in NJ, FL, NorCal, TX or IL When is it available and what is the price? At BimmerTech we believe that our cars deserve high quality and fully tested solutions. We do not want to offer you an unfinished product, which could cause more harm than good to your bimmer. The sales should start in 2-3 weeks. The price is not set yet, but I can assure you it will be worth the wait. We will be updating this thread with more information and pictures soon. Thank you for your attention. Last edited by Patrys@BimmerTech; 10-27-2012 at 07:27 AM.. |

I cant wait for this kit to come out.
Would there be a way of turning the rear facing camera even if you are driving normally? Is there an option to have a front facing one too? And switch manually between them? But have the rear one automatically turn on when reverse is selected? Thanks Also... As I do have PDC with front and rear senses. Could I have the rear ciew camera turn on and split screen with the PDC? |

Since we use the OEM integration then probably this can't be done. As MEN posted above when you have the PDC you will see the camera picture in the center of the screen and PDC image on the right hand side. |

Can you please tell me what CIC stands for... sorry for my ignorance.
Best, edit... Just googled it... It is a shame it doesnt work on my older iDrive... Maybe i can convince BMW tomorrow when my car goes in for a service if they can do something to upgrade my system as i believe my nav part of everything is causing problems.... Do you know if this is something that can be upgraded? or does the whole system need to be changed? Last edited by Josh1a1h; 10-07-2011 at 06:56 AM.. |
