A fresh new round of allocations would really help lift spirits around here.

Anyone who is not at status 112 at this point will probably not see a vehicle until summer of 2024 at the earliest, in my opinion.

That sounds kinda crazy. There’s less than 200 allocations in the US. Most of which are probably not yet 112. You really think in the span of 1 year BMW won’t be able to fulfill 200 allocations? Are they planning on going out of business?

Lol I was thinking the same. Like based on what?
It's March and they only really dropped one set of allocations if you don't include HEA cars. Those started production in December I believe and have been done and slow shipped and held. If you were to get an allocation today I'm sure you could get yours delivered by July the latest.

Allocation are not orders. There are far more orders in the pipeline than there are allocations available to dealers at this point.
For example:
There are at least 30 orders for M2's at my dealership. Most dealerships are lucky to get 2 allocations for an M2 each month. Most have received zero allocations so far. There is not one car that has been delivered to a dealership that has been custom ordered, by a customer, only HEA vehicles have been manufactured, not one person has a "150" status on a custom ordered vehicle.

My Service Advisor, whose opinion I completely trust, told me there is a two year wait on the M2.

Well considering the car doesn't officially release until April I think we're fine. All this info in this thread and this is what you come up with?

Most HEA vehicles haven't been delivered yet because they're being held for the release.

I'm pretty sure BMW knows what they're doing.

Are you at status 112 yet? Have you seen anyone with at status 150 yet? BMW USA is not the only M2 market in the world.
It is going to be a slow rollout.
" Most HEA vehicles haven't been delivered yet because they're being held for the release."-I did not say this.
I said "only HEA vehicles have been manufactured" Have you seen a custom order with a production date (status 150)?
You don't see a status 150 yet, because they have not begun this phase of production.
That is why I went with a used (7k miles) M8 until I get the M2 on-site.
When I get a production week for the M2 order, that is when I will make the decision to ditch the M8 and go with the M2 or stay with the M8.

You are correct to some degree but your post makes it sound like people who get an allocation are not guaranteed to get a car (I doubt thats how you meant it to come across).

Yes, there are far more orders in the order bank than cars for MY23 however many if those will roll to MY24. Yes, this ultimately causes the extended delay for anyone getting a M2.

Yes, no cars will be sold and delivered to a customer until after the marketing day in April. With that said, those who have received an allocation and production number (status 111 or 112) will be getting a car. The only question is when will delivery be. As stated BMW knows what they are doing in sales and production, its not their first rodeo and this is not the first car the SLP plant has produced.

Allocations only go out once a month...and usually in the last few days of the month.

I think more accurately if one doesn't have an allocation yet, then yes you're looking at a summer delivery. Next round of allocations will hold May production weeks. Add 8-12 weeks and you're in July.

Anyone who has an order will receive a vehicle. It just a matter of when the vehicle will arrive.
Status 111 is basically meaningless, until you get production number (112) you really aren't in the production pipeline. 111 is BMW acknowledging "someone wants a car." Status 150 is really where the fun begins, production start.

Both statements are incorrect. Having an order in the order bank (Status 47) does not guarantee your dealership will receive an allocation before production ceases.

Status 111 means your order is now linked to a dealership's allocation.

111 means you have an allocation, which most guys here are dying to have...so far from meaningless.

047 on the other hand...

I’m Status 112 with a customized allocation that I received at the end of February. I posted the build. Week 15 production. There are several others on here as well.

This is a rediculous statement. You are saying that it is going to take over a year for BMW to deliver all the orders that are currently in status 111? Are you saying that there will not be more allocations for about 1 year? Are you saying your service advisor who knows nothing about the BMW pipeline has access to information that no one else in the dealership has access to? Every statement you are making is unfounded.

I see, now it makes sense. You were told you wouldn't get your car for 2 years so your dealership could sell you an M8 to hold you over. you have to believe what you were told or you'll feel like a fool for buying an M8.

Hey genius, I did not buy my M8 at the same dealer. You are quite the clairvoyant.

I meant 47, not 111, remembering all of these codes from memory can be confusing.

Does anyone know if the G87 will come with the redesigned key that we can find on the X1, X7 and i7?

My Service Advisor knows far more about allocations and availability than all of the clowns in this thread.

It will take all year to clear the 111's in the queue.
