Engine Belly pan mounting
Can anyone provide diagram and parts needed to mount the engine belly pan?
We had some flooding yesterday and my belly pan was destroyed. I've looked on ECStuning and they show three different bracket for mounting. I have no idea if my current brackets are bent or even there. pan was ripped off the mounting points and pushed back behind the front wheels and was dragged for a few miles. |

The parts diagrams are confusing because they try to cover too many variations. It won't help you. The front screws to the bottom of the bumper. Then there are 2 flimsy brackets between the radiator and the steering rack. The rest of it screws to metal under the car.

Man wish I had seen this earlier this year. Had to replace mine and paid $100 for it thinking I got a deal, but this blows my price out of the water!

I'm wondering how the lack of vents will impact the intercooler and radiator efficiency. I'm pretty sure those vents are there to help pull air through the IC and radiator to improve their thermal heat dissipation. There might still be enough airflow throughout other areas underneath the vehicle, but you would appear to be loosing a nicely designed airflow path... Would be interesting to get some before/after comparisons of IAT's and/or using a thermocouple behind the IC to measure things.

It's shaped that way to allow air to be "sucked" out through the openings due to the low pressure created by the fast moving air under the front of the car. As speeds increase, there is an increasing high pressure gradient between those openings and the front of the IC/radiator.

so attempting to return to parts geek, they keep arguing that I ordered the awd one, and I keep telling them there is no awd lol. then they insist there is awd but that the vent is another part like an add on... ultimately after 10 minutes I sent them the side by side photo shows above... let's see how this goes. the box they shipped it in could fit a small family inside. it's about 4 ft. by 3 ft. by 18in. lol. I'd need a truck literally to send it out. |
