Tab repair kit for broken headlight tabs?

Noob here. Looking for a solution to broken headlight mounting tabs. I have searched the forum and I have seen reference to a "tab repair" kit or something like thatwhich is available from BMW. I have searched getbwmparts, etc. and I can't find it. The posts that I have seen mention this repair don't list the part number. Does anyone know if this even exists and, if so, what the part number is? Thanks!

there is actually a screw hole under your tabs if you take a look, these tab repair kits screw into that hole and take the place of the broken tabs

Correct. The tabs are built to break to conform with pedestrian safety laws. The kits keep you from buying a whole new set of lights.

Sorry. From my VW days I can tell you that the VW kits fixed 1 headlamp assembly and they were sold individually for right and left headlamps.

Once fixed, the headlamp looks and functions as new (with the addition of the screw.)

The part number to the kit is wrong, I got that and it is not for a e90/92/93 headlights. It came with 4 pieces, looks like should be enough for both lights. But this is a wrong kit.

Each kit fixes 2 tabs

Yep, 1 kit per headlight if both of the tabs are broken.

btw it really does look amazingly awesome, you cant even tell a difference if you dont know. Ahhh that good feeling that you saved 500$+ dollars with this kit is awesome.

So this kit should repair this tab on the top? It looks like the tab is molded into the unit, I don't quite understand how the new tab works. Do you dremel down the existing broken tab and the new tab screws right in?

Weld the plastic ... i fixed my lci .. tabs they are super strong solid ..

This plastic is great for welding ..

If you will have any questions let me know.

you screw the tab in ... can you see two holes just below snapped bracket ... thats how you mount them ...

Thanks, that cleared it up. Didn't realize it mounted to the existing broken tab.
