It's a shame that BMW will probably never be able to release anything again like the OG M2 M performance exhaust with the Bluetooth controller - this exhaust is just bonkers in terms of volume and amount of pops and crackle.

So which part of this car is to appeal to the Chinese market? Because I swore that was directed at the large grilles when the G8x came out...

BMW's pedigree is built on their performance...which it will continue to thrive and beat out its predecessors and competition.

"Stuck in the past" isn't a cop out. Have you seen Frank's Youtube channel? A majority of his videos are reassessments of 20, 30, 40+ year old car designs or analyzing his PAST designs. The man loves/lives the past. This is no disrespect to him as he's created a number of wonderful designs...but I couldn't care less what he thinks of a 2022 2 series BMW.

Had a 2015 M235i in Estoril Blue with MPE and LSD.
Car was a hoot, and sounded great too.

Not a fan of the busy, unresolved design of the new 2.

BMWs all wheel drive system manages understeer very well when driven correctly and will even oversteer fairly easily. It's nowhere near Quattro in terms of understeer IMO.

For someone who has their hopes resting on a decent next gen M2 this is getting increasingly worrying. Why is it their M Performance stuff appears to be getting cheaper and cheaper looking with each new announcement. These just looks like bits of cheap plastic stuck on from eBay. Not the quality carbon fibre pieces of old. They're also becoming less functional each time.

Wish the front lip was more balanced with the rear spoiler. Seems odd to have such an aggressive spoiler matched with a half hearted front lip

No M340i x drive doesn’t understeer, it oversteers. It’s nothing like any Audi.

Not a fan!

Poor design choices by our beloved BMW decision makers!
