2020 Yankees

OK, Here it is. The Evil Empire is back. Feels like the days of the “ BOSS.” R.I.P, we miss you. Yankees got what they want. Time to shave the beard, and cut the hair. Welcome to the Bronx Zoo.

Sir Didi gone and will be missed. So I would assume:

Andujar 1B
DJ 2B
Gleyber Day SS
Urshula 3B
Sanchez C
Stanton LF
Hicks CF
Judge RF
Voit/Frazier DH

Andujar and Frazier cannot be traded IMHO. Both are young and can produce at the plate. Their defense can be worked on and IMHO I think Andujar would be a decent project at 1B.

Don’t forget Gardy is back and will obviously play cf until Hicks returns and we have Tauchman who played solid defense and not to bad with the bat either. Nice to have all kinds of options!!

I totally agree with you about Andújar and Frazier they both have proven to be capable with the bats, but defensively they leave much to be desired. If you can trade one of the guys in a package for the Brewers Hader would you do the deal? He still has 4 years of control and is a dominant lefty.

Is Hader a reliever or a starter? If a starter MAYBE but a reliever it will be tough. I forgot to add in Gardner in the mix which means very limited playing time for Frazier who seems to be the odd man out. IDK, I feel that if he played everyday he would be better than Stanton who hardly ever plays!

He’s a reliever, one of the best the last couple years. Two pitch’s dominate fastball and I believe a wipe out slider.

We need a good backup catcher now that Romine is gone. Sanchez is prone to nagging injuries.

Let’s bring back Russell Martin?! Also, can we trade Stanton to the Dodgers for Kershaw straight up?

Seems like ur out of touch with baseball a bit. A few years behind.
You didn’t know who Hader was. And Kershaw is a mess in the playoffs. No thanks

I’ve never heard of Hader until a week or two ago. Kershaw on the Yankees would be great. He would slot into the #3 slot ahead of Malaka and I believe he’ll be fine in the playoffs.

So just because I didn’t know one player makes me out of touch with baseball, especially years behind?

Guess it’s because I follow all teams and perhaps you only follow the Yanks.
Hader is the brewers closer and one of the best relievers the past two years.
Kershaw is a mess in the playoffs. Yanks need someone that will rise up during a big game and not choke.

I think a change in scenery is what Kershaw needs. Yup, I only follow the Yankees, NY football Giants and the lousy NY Knickerbockers and that’s another story, right ny325?

I’m a fantasy guru so I know about all players haha.
Kershaw could use a new team but once he struggles a bit in NY he could crumble.

With that payroll, you have to win it.

Considering that the yankees have averaged the highest payroll rosters since their last world series, it's pretty embarrassing that they've not been to the world series since 2009.

I seriously thought that they would go all the way in 2017. Astro’s cheating or not, Yankees should have won that series.

I just want Stanton GONE. Yankees don’t need him, played for 17 minutes all of this past season and he’s made of glass like Elsbury. Since I’ve schooled myself in Hader, I would trade A top prospect for him but no way Andujar/Frazier and a prospect. Way too much for a reliever IMHO. Give them (No) Chance Adams and a top A prospect. Keep mini Pedro at all costs. Chapman is starting to be human and we need arms. Betances may not be coming back but he wasn’t missed this past season as well.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat, and money wise it just about even so both teams payrolls wouldn’t be effected by much. Though I know Kershaw has been lousy in the postseason he has been one of the greatest regular season pitchers, and I think he would be fine especially with our bullpen.

Keep Russell Martin far away from the Bronx. BA 220, 6HRs, 46 RBI in 2019. No thanks.

Stanton for Kershaw, why not... They have something in common. Can’t deliver in the big game. Maybe a change in scenery would help them out. Worth the risk if you ask me.

For defensive purposes and calling pitches at least? Who would you want as the #2 catcher since Romine is gone?

I thought about calling into Francesa before he retired (again) about this trade idea. Part of me assumed he would brush me off and call me crazy, or better yet, out of touch with baseball lol. Yankees would do that trade but the Dodgers won’t as they need pitching and that would leave a gaping hole in their rotation.

How about:

Yankees get: Kershaw plus 2 mid level pitching prospects
Dodgers get: Stanton, Happ, (No) Chance Adams

So the rotation would look like this:

Cole
Sev
Tanaka
Kershaw
Paxton

Monty and Mini Pedro spot start/AAA.

Give him a chance. He could be great for mop up duties. Kind of like Tanyon Sturtz, remember him?

I remember him very well, but I’ll tell you one thing he actually pitched well in that game against the Redsox where Jeter went flying into the stands and busted up his face and then John Flaherty had a walkoff double to win it. Your right maybe he does deserve another Chance with another team, but he could get re assigned to AAA if he chooses to if he goes un claimed.
