I recently had the 'half diagonal filled engine light' come up briefly and then disappear\re-appear a few times on the cluster, and as can't get the car to a garage just now, I bought a D+CAN cable and installed INPA 5.02 on an old laptop to pull any fault codes logged.

The DME had the following codes stored. The text in [brackets] ive added after a bit of googling.

483C 21 483C [Boost pressure actuator]
4990 21 4990 [Exhaust pressure sensor before turbocharger, plausibility]
4530 21 4530 [Boost pressure control, control deviation]
4521 21 4521 [Boost pressure control, control deviation]

I cleared the codes and then rescanned without driving and the 483C code re-appears immediately.

I'm quite handy with tools and not afraid to get my hands dirty and in amongst the engine bay, so any advice or guidance on where to look and check as I'm not familiar with this engine.

Car has 88k miles and I've done oil changes every 8k miles for the last 70k miles using BMW LL04 spec oil (even though it's not been run on LL servicing)

Did you figure it out? I’m having the exact same problem right now. Started after it was in the shop, having the dpf off and welded on a new flexpipe.
