Question Dead battery on parked car

Hey group i think that i need some advice. I left my 06 325I sitting in my garage for a while and the battery went dead. No problem i thought so i bought a battery charger and recharge it and it started right up and i thought great. Well instead of driving it like i should have i left it in the garage again. Well a few days pass and i think that i need to just tow the car to the dealer to have them replace the battery and reprogram it. Well went to charge the battery to get the car to turn over so i can back it out of the garage. Well a few hours later not only will the battery not charge now the car is stuck in the garage because with no power i can't put it into neutral to back it out so the tow truck can take it. What do i do now any advice guys i need it

With an 06', the battery could definitely be shot, assuming it's the original. From what I understand, leaving a car battery dead for a long time can also ruin it.

I'd buy a new battery, install it at home and then bring it to the dealer for programming. That's probably less hassle than dealing with a tow. Or jump start it and drive it somewhere for replacement and programming. Have you tried a jump start? That would also help confirm the battery is shot.

Use the posts under the hood.

You can hook it up directly but if you can avoid it you should. There's a Positive terminal under the hood, you attach your ground to someplace on the frame. A typical easy spot is a shockmount screw.

Also, what exactly needs reprogramming?

There's a shifter release button under the trim. Lift up the leather and the plastic trim around it and you'll be able to access the button so you can put it in neutral.
