Steering wheel vibration when idle

This morning I started up my M2, as I was about to leave my garage I noticed my steering wheel vibrating in park. It was shaking pretty bad to the point it caught my attention. Car runs fine, but at a red light there is still vibration. Anyone else had this issue or know what it could be?

Not this....but what appears to be an annoying rattle from the driver door speaker over a ribbed surface.

Might be worth letting the dealer sort it out. Sounds unusual.

Steering wheel shake with no other untoward behavior points to a problem with the power steering system. Yeah, I know... Duh.

My point in pointing out the obvious is there is nothing you can do on your driveway to address this.

Thus time to get the car in and have this looked into. ASAP.

There shouldn't been a noticeable vibration with an inline 6, but it is not unknown for a failing injector in a DI engine to cause it, leading to vibrations noticed in the cabin. I had this happen on our Macan S when it only had a few thousand km on it. Potentially a faulty injector from the supplier.

Possible, but it should be throwing faults, right? (On my e90 i've clogged the rail twice and it threw quite obvious faults both times.)

In any case, a trivial diagnosis to make, since you can pop the hood and eyeball it (or touch the mounts). If the engine is unbalanced, it's easy to tell. So it's worth taking 10 seconds to check it.

In the case of our Macan S, it didn’t throw codes until the vibration became quite bad, I pointed it out to the dealer when it first started and they found no codes or faults, then when it did later store a temporary misfire, they moved the plugs and coil packs to different cylinders to see if the misfire swapped with them (it didn’t), then finally replaced the injector.

Aren't there some driver assists that shake the steering wheel, like lane departure? Maybe one of them is faulty and shaking the wheel. Might be worth turning all that stuff off to check?
