My CarPlay went haywire after the update. Kept claiming there is another connection in use. Deleting and re-pairing my phone fixed it.
My GPS issue went away but only been a day so will monitor.

I saw a youtube clip where someone mapped the Sport Display to the M2 button after the update. I just updated my car today and haven't found that option. Anyone else see it?

Only thing I've seen like that was a guy who added a custom circuit board. I don't think it's an actual OEM option.

He’s selling for $350. To me it’s worth it. Will probably pay for itself with the cumulative time it will save me. I switch every time I start the car.
Page 59 of What have you done… thread there is video with instal. Small harness that plugs in-line under the shifter area console. Video for Auto, but allegedly similar on 6MT. Some clips and 4 screws to get there.

Not too happy with the update.

Had a few customized settings. All gone. The biggest loss was that of the auto stop/start being disabled by default. Guess this was done by the Genius at the dealer where I bought the car. Going to have to figure out how to get this back the way it was.

The M1 button brings up M1 mode promptly. But it seems to take "forever" for the M2 button to work. (Might mention it looks like the update did *not* change the M1/M2 button settings. Which is kind of a surprise...)

Other operations seem to be slow. Randomly. I'm going along interacting with some feature then it is like the system hangs for a bit. Not long by the clock but seems long when one selects an icon and nothing happens.

Not looking forward to going through this 3x a year...

my system was very laggy for a while after the update esp. going further into settings, it was fine next day.

After reading this thread and seeing the update available on my phone and ‘dash’ tv screen, I decided to not perform the update.

My M240 has had updates pushed and they never were completed even though I tried on occasion. I think they changed the font and added the M240 in the dash at the top. Not sure of other changes after update.

I’m happy with things the way they are.

275 miles in…725 miles to go….

Cheers!

same happened to me...must be a New Jersey thing.

I also got a "Bluetooth not compatible with this version" error added to it!

At least my instrument cluster has not failed again!

If the update does not bring anything substantial why bother.

Assumed the car update was for bug fixes/improved security.

Get these for my iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro. For the operating system and some applications.

No obliterating of any OS or app settings. The only thing I can recall is with my iPhone after an IOS update Safari experimental features are turned back on and Bluetooth is left on.

I can skip further updates but there's a risk at some point if an update needs to be applied it can't be because the software version in the car is too far out of date.

I’m reading on Reddit that the new update kills the ability to add additional colors for the ambient lighting and sound profiles for the stereo on bimmercode?

Are you saying after the update you have to turn off auto stop/start every time you restart the car? Can anyone else confirm this?

That didn’t happen to me after update. (Unless you’re in Europe that’s standard per regulations)
I keep hearing all these things happen after updating, but the only thing i had to do after the update was configure my personal assistant again. That’s it, update went smooth and actually improved the nav colors.

Yes. But then on a hunch I rebooted the "radio" or whatever (held the volume button down for some time) and the engine auto stop/start remains off.

Added: By Off I mean the auto stop/start remains deactivated.

But got in the car the other day and the auto stop/start deactivation was not active. Had to press the button.

Not sure what's going on.

This is not true. First, this is a BimmerCode update you’re referring to (not a BMW update). Nothing was given, nothing was taken away. But to setup the colours you have to choose 3-series as before. The BMW update for the car changed nothing for features as well.
