What bang for the buck first mod do you recommend?
Owners, besides tint, what is the first mod you would suggest someone make to a G87 and why?
Looking for value in terms of dollars per perceived impact. |

This is extremely subjective and also depends on what you ultimately plan on doing and the amount you are looking to spend. While I don't consider them mods, I would improve/protect the exterior first. Paint correction, ppf and ceramic coating. Collectively, these are not cheap, cost wise. If you want looks, consider rear spoiler, front lip and badge/roundels. Performance related: height adjustable suspension and exhaust. If you will be tuning, then the list goes on... Its so easy to spend someone else's money... |

outside of paint protection, I would go HAS Kit and Spacers.

I will add aftermarket forged rims (to shed the weight and weakness of the stock boat anchors) with proper offset. |

I just re coded anti-dazzle high beam through Bimmercode and I am super impressed at its operation and functionality. I was under impression that it only enables anti dazzle feature but it also enables highlight (its actually called "spotlight" sorry all!) feature which I never thought about. Took a drive late at night yesterday and it was just so cool to see how car's high beam actively seek and move around the road lighting up road signs! Its such a neat feature and in my opinion, best bang for buck mod!

First thing I did was get all weather mats and just got PPF and tint. I also have the bimmercode app and obd adapter so will make some customizations as well. I might do a stage 1 tune later but honestly this car has a lot of power for the platform.

https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2020230 One thing I would advice to anyone following this mod is, do not buy cheap obd 2 adaptor. I bought cheap one that is supposed to be supported by Bimmercode app, but turns out it only supports partially and it would not allow me to adjust Body Control Module... saying OBD2 adaptor is not supported... I was so pissed because OBD2 seller was like "we support Bimmercode blah blah" and I lost 30 bucks lol. So if you are going to code any of features provided by Bimmercode just buy actual cable and adaptor for the phone its cheaper and codes faster than wireless adaptor |

Ppf and ceramic coat should absolutely be first after delivery before really driving it if possible. Would add HAS port installed as well if ever planning on lowering. As others have said then light weight wheels to shed rotational weight for performance but also providing proper offsets for looks.

My plan is hood and bumper PPF, maybe those wide rear hips too or at least front mild flaps because with my planned 18mm F&R spacers I believe rocks will be fly in’. Will also do KW HAS kit and very least a front lip R44 MHC but likely the whole kit, carbon fiber mirror covers etc. Probably enjoy like that for a while and then some wheels and downpipes and tuning.

best bang for buck is going to be protecting those radiators... I would first get something to protect them
well it depends are you looking for power, looks or just straight up handling? For me since this is my first RWD car i need to learn the platform before any power mods thats for sure. I do have a parts list and these are the items i have already order for a car that is not here.... 1. AST Hight adjustable springs (fender gap is gross) 2. RAM-AIR PRORAM intake (coming from UK ETA 2-3 weeks) 3. Mishimoto Skid plate 4. Radiator Grill mesh 5. Mud flaps 6. CSL yellow DRL lights 7. smoked seq turn signals ------------------------------------------------------- Next (waiting for sales) 8. Wheels 9. mid pipe and cross over pipe 10. Carbon lip kit and mirror caps 11. Carbon rear spoiler |

For me it was HAS kit installed at Port. The price delta vs buying yourself and getting a shop to do it is negligible imo and because it’s a BMW Oem part it’s covered. Next for me is wheels.

Agree with the others and went with the port install on the HAS Kit. Minimal savings doing down the road unless you can do the labor. Added CF Inlets and ZC9 CF spoiler. Dropping off tomorrow (albeit late ~600 miles) for stage 1 paint correction and Cermaic Coating plus Ceramic 35% tint. Car is BSM.
Next will be CF front lip (I’ll install over the holidays) and I’m toying with new wheel options. I’d prefer to try and reuse the Michelins that came on the factory wheels and get a similar sizes after market wheel setup to save a few grand in new tires but we’ll see… |

I would say JQwerk's magnetic paddle shifters will be my first mod.
For less than $400. You can swap the paddles that you use every time you shift for a fantastic feel. This mod was my favourite mod that I did to my F87(I tell everyone that I love it). I can assure you that it worth every penny if you have an auto transmission. Link to their website: https://jqwerks.com/products/jq-werk...43651008889118 |

Thanks for the feedback folks... So many PPF, HAS, and wheels comments!
I like to space out my mods to keep me excited and use them as a reward to myself. I already have HAS port installed, so maybe I already did my first mod? Tint will come asap. PPF might be a spring thing, maybe stealth? Will use a hybrid spray wax until then. I will run through tires before probably moving to a square setup, hopefully 2025ish and keeping stock wheels for winter. I was heavily considering spacers as a first mod. That or spoiler or splitter. Engine power/noise mods will wait until after wheels. |

Not sure how people have missed a tune?
$3,500 ($AUD) for a Dahler Tune, 328kw to 406kw.... I'll wait for a better bang for buck. Closely followed by mid-pipes done by an exhaust specialist (x-pipe) is all it needs |
