Pierburg or Nissens metal water pump?
I am about to upgrade my hybrid turbo set, and while I am in there, I am going to preventatively upgrade my water pump to a new all-metal from FCP.
I see now FCP has both the Pierburg and Nissens all metal water pumps. Both are relatively the same price. I have purchased several items from Nissens in the past with good quality but I wanted opinions from the platform. Pierburg or Nissens for the all metal water pump? |

Im currently using pierburg waterpump for about 25k km but when I purchased it there wasnt any other metal waterpump aside from chinese brands. I use nissen for radiator but personally i would stick with pierburg since they been making the N52 metal waterpumps that dont fail as often.

Pierburg is the favorite after market (OE?) WP. Don't mess with success!
But I wouldn't be surprised if Nissens is made side by side at the same facility! |

I like Pierburg products a lot, but heard lots of failures of their metal water pump. No idea what's causing the failures though

Reviving an old thread here as I'm looking to replace my water pump soon. It makes a grinding noise for a fraction of a second when it starts running; been doing this for over a year now and still works fine, it just doesn't sound healthy.
What's the consensus, Pierburg vs Nissens? FCP doesn't seem to carry the Nissens pumps any more, not even showing 'backordered' just doesn't show up at all. Rock Auto has them but they're $30 more than Pierburg from FCP... I think I know what I'm getting, unless there's confirmation that the Nissens pump is somehow better. |
