Front End Numbness Q For Those Who Have Tracked The G87

I’ve heard reports that the front end feels more numb than the F87.

This concerns me because I got rid of my F87 in part due to not really feeling connected to the road. Never tracked the car before I got rid of it though.

Q: Does your G87 lack front end feel on track?

Follow up Q: What mods did you try to alleviate that feeling?

PS: I loved the connection to the road that I had in my M4CX on track, but another M4 is not in the cards for now, sadly. I do have a G87 on order.

I would say drive it first.

Haven't been on track yet but will be by this time next month, I think the millway/spl/turner components are the exact items you are looking for FWIW if you do feel it is a little vague up front.

Thanks! Please let me know what you think after you've been on track.

Much appreciated.

Bolting on 18x10.5 Apex VS5R-S's with 295/35R18 Nankang CR-S's on em.

Going to just roll with that and brake fluid for a start.

Based on how it feels will probably end up doing the millway camber plates and pads after that just to slow down wear on all the consumables.

Will let you know!

I can’t see how it can be worse than an AWD version of the same car… so if you liked the M4, you will more than likely like or prefer the M2.

I think the M2 just requires a lot more focus than the other 2.

Combination of the shorter wheebase and RWD will make it much more prone to rotate.

M2 will seperate boys from men when driving it hard, I find it interesting that JDing competes with traction control turned up so high, eager to find out for myself.

I have 3 years worth of heavy autox and some track days in the f87c. I've had the g87 for a whole 4 days now and just playing around on off ramps, on ramps, the g87 feels better imo. It is simply supported underload better, the steering feel is way lighter, however you are never really guessing with the car. Sorry can't really add any more than that at this point.

The feel of the M4CX front end was far superior to the F87 in my humble opinion. The M4 really instilled confidence.

There’s a huge difference in front end wheel/tire combo too.

275 vs 245.

As mentioned above the steering weight is definitely light but it is very precise, wondering how feedback will be on the track.

I am hoping the 295 up front transmits some more feel.

If you considered your G82’s steering to be talkative, you’ll be happy with the G87. The front end is a lot sharper in the M2, at times almost too sharp. Great fun on the track nonetheless. Thrust arm bushing upgrade and tires will go a long way in terms of steering feel.
