Fitment issues with ACS Front lip. Need advices.

Hey there,

I got these for some time now but finally decided to put them on last week end. Did any of you ever managed to fix it? Its supposed to be a straight fit but its not. Let me show you. But dont flame me, it was just a test fit, I know my car is dirty. (Thanks to all that rain we had during last week). I didnt plan to put it on like that.

These are the parts i'm trying to put on.

Attachment 433995

There are some fenders in the lower grilles that prevent the lip to clip on the actual bumper. There are two slots in the middle of the lip that are made to clip on the center fender (Circled in green on the picture) but my problem is caused by those on the side. (Circled in red on the picture)

Attachment 433997

That prevent the lip to be "clip on" like stated by the seller, but to make it fit I would have to either dremel the actual fender or my lip.

Attachment 433994

If I use a dremel on the painted lip, are there any chances that the paint cracks? This is what i'm affraid of. I could also dremel the fender, but I dont really want to do that to my OEM bumper.

Any suggestions?

+1. Just unclip them. There's instructions in the DIY section on how to remove them.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, You need to remove those slats to make that Lip fit. The slats won't go back on with that new Lip.

you have to take the front bumper off to remove the slats or their tabs will break off easily if you're pulling it from the front.

The slits on the lip should have been cut deeper before painting in order for the lip to sit flush with the bumper. My wife had or still has fitment issues with the ACS front lip even after modification. Now the issue will be solved permenantly because she is getting rid of the whole front bumper including the lip for the M3 replica. Good luck with the install.
