The squareness of the design has really grown on me. Makes the F87 look old (and it is pretty old, I guess).
The ZB colour doesn't do it for me though, even though it shows off the lines and bulges; especially in the sunlight. If I still had my F87, and if it didn't have such high mileage, I probably wouldn't be tempted to trade it in for this despite my newfound taste for the design. Alas, I will be getting the G87. Probably in black or white. |

I can't get the "this looks like a car on the highway with blue painters taped covering every inch of bumper" image out of my head

Worst color combined with the worst of possible wheel finishes - all black. I can't wait for this tired trend to die off - it's already inflicted enough damage upon multiple generations of cars.
A metallic color that really emphasizes the flares plus non-black wheels will be the best look for this car, easily.

I'm not quite sold on the looks yet, and the ZB color is definitely not helping. It does sound pretty good though from those short clips. Much better than the S55 sounds.

I was there. The color - without the rest of the Gulf complement is ... not great.
I love the specs for the car, but the new M2 is without question, the fugliest car BMW have ever turned out. In my ignorant "customer" opinion, the M2 has mistake after mistake in the design process clearly visible - no matter which direction you look from. They are obviously (?) trying to rewrite the design script... but someone should probably pull on the reigns a bit... It's bad. -and no WAY are you getting out of that car in wet conditions without your pants/trouser legs getting trashed. That bodywork flair is HUGE. It's a long way out from the seat to the ground. so track day? check. daily driver? nope. oh well. Specs are great, though! Similarly, the XM... was neat but not pretty. ?? It stands out, but it doesn't stir passion. -of note, the logos were gaf taped over - just like the "M" logo on the wheels of the X2. |

Did anyone else notice that the spec sheet says, "3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology 453-hp inline 6-cylinder engine with a bi-turbo turbocharger with variable valve and lift control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic and high-precision direct injection"
Is TwinPower a typo? Or is bi-turbo a typo? Is the final spec going to be a tuned B58 instead of a detuned S58? Or BMW M marketing is having a rough go? hahahaa... |
