In April 2023 I bought a M2 launch car in Zandvoort Blue. I liked the color to be sure but I would have taken just about any color.

The car has received a large number of favorable comments/compliments.

(Just the other day on the way north on I49 (passing through Rogers AR) in the right lane happened to notice a couple of guys hanging out the passenger side windows of some BMW SUV over in the next lane. Both guys with big smiles and giving a thumbs up. I smiled and waved back. The SUV then accelerated and sped up and changed lanes up ahead and took the next freeway exit.)

Anyhow lots of compliments, thumbs up, seeing people taking pics, and not on negative comment.

I would not buy a color I didn't like just because others might like it but it is kind of nice to have so many others like the same color I do.

But I’m not looking to track this car, just want to enjoy the ride and be able to use it for me DD. Thoughts?
From a money standpoint don't think the "deal" makes good sense/cents.

You take a depreciation hit on the 330i. Used car prices have tumbled. And then you start depreciation running on the new M2.

(But I will admit I traded in a perfectly good 2022 BMW 230i not even a year old with just 7K miles on it when I bought my M2.)

I note you are in San Diego CA. Before you get too far into a new M2 purchase you might want to run a M2 VIN by your insurance agent and get a quote.

Yeah, I doubt anyone who can afford to buy/own a 330i or an M2 would be put off by some bit of a jump in his car insurance premium but you might be surprised at how big a jump you might be facing. Knowing this amount of jump *before* you buy the new M2 would be better than finding out *after*. Finding out after could kill the new M2 buzz...

I don't know about your area but when I lived Livermore CA (up north) and worked in the east bay with a number of cars the nose dragged upon entering/exiting almost every drive.

Most noticeable on my 2018 Hellcat which had splitter protectors on each corner. After a while these were worn through and the edges of the splitter were being abraded by pavement contact.

I was very careful, entering/exiting drives at slow speed and approaching at an angle. (Not my first experience with this car nose dragging as I had dealt with this with my Porsche Turbo and my Boxster before the Hellcat.)

To be sure the nose dragging didn't make me run out and get rid of the cars and buy something that would not drag a nose driving across the Grand Canyon but it was something I lived with day after day. And cost me $400+ when I let someone drive my Turbo and he wasn't as careful and cracked the Turbo air dam and I had to replace it.

I bring this whole subject up because the M2 has a "rep" from having critical cooling hardware located where they are at some risk of damage if one is not careful and always mindful.

Might add I left CA for AR and I brought the Hellcat with me. Here it didn't drag its nose at all. Nor did the 2020 Scat Pack I replaced the Hellcat with. And my M2 doesn't drag its nose either.

If a good deal can be had on a new model then it might be better to get the 2025. You could probably order it by April. Shop around and find the best "new order" deal. You will then have a brand new car for 16 months.

Went to my dealer last night. He told me I can order the 25’ in July with a September delivery if I wanted. Same for the 25’ M3 so the 25’s aren’t that far away (depending on how you evaluate time).

This is in Montreal Canada fyi. I’m aware times might change depending on areas.

Sounds correct. I've been to 3 dealers this month looking at G87s on the lot to see the exterior colors and other options in person. None of the dealers were able to give me a date when 2025 ordering would start. Maybe your dealer has different information in Canada, or he may be going by previous years? The 2024 pricing guide was released in June 2023, so a July order and Sept delivery sounds reasonable, assuming they get the allocation.

He showed me on his computer the production scheduling for all the models and 2025 M2 and M3 chart was for July.

I’ve ordered around 4 from him and he’s been bang on for all of them.

Now to decide. M2 or M3…

Yeah, Java Green or Voodoo Blue would be the ones I would go for but of the colors available now, for me, ZB. I like that color. In person for me was better than the initial pics.

Do it man!
I thought the same about my '17 M240i 6MT. All good, no issues, solid at 72k. Had it tastefully modified. Was in the dealer for other vehicle and saw the '24 G87. Dealer offered $5k discount off MSRP. Traded the M240 for the 6MT G87 that day.
Haven't looked back. You won't either.

Everything i have seen or heard dealers are selling at MSRP or with a mark up from that. Good deal if you got discount.

I was told the break in is 1,200 miles, is that right? My Dad's C8 was 500.

1,200 miles and do NOT skip the RiS (run in service) at that time.
