Question What toy to get for the short term?

Sold my C6Z a few weeks ago. Gonna be a while before I start the hunt for another big boy toy. So I'm thinking about getting something fast, but cheap, to hold me over. Really partial to it being RWD V8, but am open to other options. Absolutely no FWD.

I know I can look for a modded LS1 f-body or fox/SN95 Mustang, but everyone wants too much for not enough car IMO. Of course, I'd buy one if the deal were right. I've already owned several Mustangs & F-bodies. A shame only clapped out GNs are in that price range. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I am looking for another Miata, though. However, looking for a boosted one. Then I would transfer parts from this one then sell this one

I could also go big turbo & built motor on the MS6, but I can;t bring myself to drop $5k on the motor work & turbo then more for tune then more for new clutch, then more for FMIC etc. Not that I don't want to, just too much of a pill to swallow for my cheap ass.

e39 m5 (assuming $18k is cheap). If you don't ruin it, you can sell it in a year for $17500. Total cost of ownership will be very low.

My idea of cheap is around $5k. Perhaps a little more for something I love

+1. Mid engine, rwd, good gas mileage, and Toyota reliability.

yea, don't do a $5k e39 anything. That's just asking for trouble. I'd think a mustang is going to be your best bang for the buck.

Around 5k, rwd, V8?

Not sure you can find something like that won't be a problem down the road.

Rotary is fake speed. Rotaries are the equivalent of arguing with someone from Canada about top speed. They always using KMH.
