The brakes seem fine on my 23 this is my first auto ever though and in sport or sport plus coming to a stop when it's down shifting on it's own its def a different feeling. Maybe that's what some of you are experiencing.

I have only 500 miles on my 2023 M240i so far, but the brakes seem to bite pretty hard to me. Like, I have to consciously go easy on them to keep from slamming to a halt. No idea how they hold up for track use or anything crazy like that.

Zero issues with the brakes on my car, and I beat the hell out of it on backroads at high speeds. If I was tracking the car, then I'd upgrade to track use pads, but the stock pads are good enough for driving at the limits on the road.

Agreed. My '22 M240i (non-ZTK) requires a firm press of the brake pedal while stopped before auto hold will engage. My wife's '22 X3 xDrive30i, without any brake upgrades, engages auto hold seemingly the instant the car has come to a stop, regardless of brake pedal force.

That's how auto hold is designed to function on almost any car? Make it any less sensitive and auto hold will start randomly engaging in traffic.

Yeah. On my girlfriend's RAV4, you have to press the HOLD button on the dash and then give the brake pedal a good deep shove. Great for waiting in drive-thru windows and large intersections. Wouldn't use it for anything else. Stop n Go cruise fills the void.
