so there will be like 2 weeks of July which will be 100% allocated in the Mexico factory to the production of MY2023 cars ? or there might still be a slight chance they will delay the start of production to August (even if on paper it states SOP 07/22) since there were delays with the production of MY2022 in the past months ? the reason I am asking this is that some lucky customers will be able to get their MY2023s delivered as soon as end of August then if their cars will be the first ones to be produced in the second half of July. |

I'm getting my MY23 build sorted w/ my CA tomorrow. I'll be asking about allocations then but I imagine once they're done processing when the MY22's are going to be complete, then dealers will get the new ones?
Hopeful the process doesn't get delayed like what a lot of y'all went through with the 22's. With a full ordering guide, they had better start with providing everything listed, not deleting stuff as they go. I'll be adding the ACC option and the 50-Jahre badges. I know it's not a real ///M car, sue me... |

According to my CA July is definitely 2023 MY as they shut down for up to a couple of weeks to re-tool for the new MY. I was very adamant about not wanting the 2023 MY option due to the iDrive8 non sense that I personally am not a fan of. |

And shoelaces are unnecessary too. Wouldn't it be weird and annoying to have a proprietary closure system on every different brand of sneakers?
Shoe manufacturers could save a lot by not having to include 10'-15' of cotton or nylon "rope" with each pair of shoes and instead use elastic, a couple snaps, a zipper or velcro tabs. Automatics have been in the mainstream for 50+ years and people are accustomed to a shift lever. Between the trackpad and shift buttons, and with 40 years of driving experience, my wife's RDX is MADDENING to try to get used to.

I don't think that's a valid comparison. I understand there are a group that are furious and others who couldn't care less, I'm in the latter camp. Im much more annoyed that I can't have ACC. And this is coming from someone who's driven manuals since getting a license, so I'll need to find somewhere else to rest my right hand/arm.

Update: I prefer iDrive 8 because it adds Video Augmented Reality for Navigation if you spec the Premium Package. Last edited by MillieMiglia; 06-07-2022 at 04:43 PM.. Reason: Adding more information |

Im gonna guess you havent been driving for 40 years and youve seen the trendy proprietary gear changing implementations come and go over the course of much of your driving career. For me, the shifter being there is as ingrained as a steering wheel. A shifter is part of what a car IS. And I have zero interest in ACC. I have to ask, Why would you buy a car like this and then want it to drive itself? That's what EVs are for. 💤 |

Nope, for around 24 years. I'm not saying I'm a fan of the little nub, but if I'm not rowing gears, I don't really care. Mind you, I wouldn't mind having a fake shifter for somewhere to rest my right hand, but a manual trans style shifter in that location doesn't matter on an automatic. Is it just for somewhere to rest your hand that is the issue?
Regarding ACC, I'd likely never use it, it's the fact that I'm spending 60k on a fully loaded car and want every option. There's a chance I would use it on my 45 mile commute each way to work on a long highway. |

Resting place is nice but it's more about the muscle memory for me. I just want to reach down, push a release button and move the lever, not look for a nub or the correct button to push or pull.
I've adjusted to an electronic lever, but mechanical would be even better. I guess I am more of a minimalist with options. If i wont use it i dont want it. But to each their own. It is what makes our cars more unique. From what I have seen in various threads, I think we are on virtually the same order / prod timeline. I ordered beginning of april, just went 150 with a 6/15 proddate |
