Luckily, I received the car (still at the dealers) prior to the mandatory door trim option being forced; I am not a fan of that; although, I do like the illuminated dash trim. Hopefully I have some illumination on the dash and not just solid glossy black.

Really stinks that purple is gone. It has been my interior illumination color in my current car for 7 years!

Wow.So they ditched the traditional BMW Orange ambient color. You really don’t know what BMW is going to do these days.Does Citrine look like Orange?

for those lucky enough to have your car, does the voice command for contour still work? assuming the new illuminated dash will also follow the contour color...

Question, I've notice on some newer BMW models, the (new) passenger side dash trim LEDs blinks/flashes/strobes when there is an incoming call or a vehicle announcement.

Do you know if the G42 trim piece does the same or similar for announcements?
Hey mate. So when the door is open the ambient lighting strobes in red. I will try and get some photos of it for you next time I'm out at night.

The UK is showing this for textured effect for Black Gloss

And this gloss for the Rhombicle option

Surely thats the wrong way round isnt it?

Strange, I don’t know there was two versions of the M accent dash trim , I thought it was black satin rhombicle if you order M accents or black gloss with ambient lighting dots if you don’t .
At this rate everyone’s car will be unique .

Thats a pretty bad state of affairs from BMW that a customer posts something like this

Yeah it’s not really acceptable to wait to see what you get , I’m also in this position.
I can’t believe the poor communication from BMW to customers and the website department can’t even be arsed to update the configurator. .

That's exactly what mine will look like... perfect! Maybe at some point I'll retrofit CF on the center console (or wrap it).

I wonder if (when?) BMW is going to release the dry carbon trim for the 2023 models. That was something I really wanted.

That is what I am hoping for. On BMWs website when searching for 2023 240 parts/accessories the dry carbon does show up and says it fits but I am assuming this is another glitch. I have not seen anyone with a 2023 and carbon fiber trim yet.

I would imagine the dry carbon center console trim and cupholder lid will fit but for sure not the upper dash trim. The dry carbon interior trim pieces comes as a complete kit from what I understand. If BMW does end up releasing a dry carbon interior kit for MY2023+ it wouldn’t include the dash trim because the M illumination and regular illumination dash piece must be transparent.

That's also what I was thinking. Since they went out of their way to make the illumination a thing, I can't imagine they would offer trim that would cover it up.

Correct. Hopefully a new kit is released and the price reflects not including the dash as the kit right now is not cheap. The current kit also includes alcantara knee pads which I am indifferent about. If nothing comes for awhile I may just bite the bullet and take what's available as I really like the dry carbon look.

I have the Alcantara armrest and seat backs so would want the Alcantara knee pads but your right about the dash trim, unless they make a cf version that lights up and charge even more 😩

The M2 has gloss carbon fiber trim and they redesigned the illuminated dash trim again! Top part is carbon fiber and there’s now an LED bar below it.

Where did you see this? I haven't been able to find any decent shots of that side of the dash.

Edit: Just saw a video of the interior and I see it now.

I saw that last night and was immediately disappointed lol. I am wondering if it is still possible just to replace your dash piece with the carbon fiber and eliminate the illumination?
