It’s very interesting, BMW M has invested a lot of money into these parts. They are not cheap by any means. Your looking at $100K build easily. Looking forward to the Comp /CS models…

Exactly. I don't see how a lot of these pieces add any value to the car itself, they're purely cosmetic and of HIGHLY questionable taste.

Still, they've certainly got the menacing stance right on this new M2.

I mean, no one has really driven it beyond the manufacturer so I don't see how that is a surprise. Significant weight savings almost always result in a better driving vehicle, why do you think they talk about the 4cyl variants of the 2 series driving better? Because they have less weight over the front axle. For me, the better driving feel didn't make up for the 4cyl sounding like all modern turbocharged four cylinder engines (ie farts), the I6 made the car feel special in other ways.

However, the S58 and ancillaries is quite a lot heavier than the B58 and i stand by that it sounds worse, much like S55 vs N55. But I grew up on 90s cars with inline sixes so getting closer to that sound is what I prefer.

Nothing a couple lighter weight coolers, carbon hood, and some other things can't fix to drop pounds off the front axle. It won't be dramatic but there are things that can be done. I think 50-60lbs is possible plus unsprung weight with forged wheels.

I agree it doesn't sound as good but add a midpipe and they sound even better

GT4 costs 150 cad plus tax w some options including PDK and M2 although it is mexican built, it will be cheaper and hopefully will be faster than the Cayenne around the nurburgring. A very nice option to have as a second car and track car. Some M performance parts do enhance the look but you could achieve this w black wrap. The exhaust does work on it. The spoiler strangely too.
