How many types of suspension setups are available? How to tell what is installed?

How many kinds of suspension setups are available on the M240i? Base, M sport and adaptive? Or is M sport the same as Adaptive?

Also I know this sounds like a stupid question but how do I know for certain which type of suspension is on my car? (Took delivery just last week) I optioned for “M sport suspension” but noticed that I lack the “adaptive mode” in my drive mode selection (I only have eco pro, comfort and sport)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the 2023 models no longer have the adaptive button. afaik, all US models of the G42 come with the adaptive suspension but I am not sure about international models. if the M sport suspension was on your build list then you most likely have adaptive suspension

I did not know that the “adaptive mode” has been deleted, thanks for that information. Unfortunately I don’t really know what the “standard spec” is in my country since my M240i, as spec’d is LITERALLY 1 of 1 in the entire country. 😂

I also optioned for the wireless charger but it was unceremoniously deleted and even the dealer didn’t know it was being deleted until it arrived in the showroom. That’s why I want to know a more objective way of knowing what I have instead of blind trust that it’s on there.

Adaptive dampers are standard. When you are in comfort mode they get more pliable and in sport they tighten up.You can also set them up in sport individual which is what I do, I make everything sport+ with dampers in comfort. The adaptive button is gone but I can tell you you won’t miss it. I have that in my M340 and I can never tell it doing anything in that mode. I never use it.

They are standard in the US. Not necessarily in other parts of the world

Any idea how to tell which suspension a given car has? From looking under the hood or whatever not from just the spec sheet.

If you have the option to adjust “suspension” in the drive experience control i.e. sports individual, you will have adaptive suspension.

To be clear, “damping” IS suspension right? I don’t know if US spec says “suspension” while my Euro spec says “damping” or what.

Don't know if the BMW vin decoder will work for you "bimmer.work"
but if it does check under options and it will tell you every feature on your car including if has adaptive or not.
