335igasm No worries. Thanks for the reply, I missed it and I’m late replying too! How can I link up with you to do this?

pacmanchriz Sorry man, I tried to reply but I don’t have enough post history to send dm’s… 😒 Anyways, here’s what I was going to say:
Hey man, I never heard back from the guy offering to do it. I haven’t gotten it done yet, but I’m most likely going to go down the GT Peace in Chantilly, Va. to get it done. I’m in Mont. county so it’s gonna be a drive either way for me. GT Peace charges $499 for my engine (n54, but it sounded like the price depends on the engine. They have a good reputation on here from other people getting stuff done so $150 more isn’t all huge deal for me. |

jimmymacE92 no worries, I've heard good things from GT Peace actually. Any particular reason you're looking to do it? I'm getting stuttering/jerking on initial acceleration after cold start. It goes away after 5 mins of driving around. I can't imagine it being injectors since those got replaced with index 12's at 60k miles. I just hit 80k and all spark plugs and coils along with VC & VCG got replaced at 75k miles. I'm hoping it's nothing major like a leaky injector ugh.. I have no history of walnut blasting so hoping it could be that

pacmanchriz long story short.. I’m at ~137k miles and it’s never been done.
Longer story.. I’ve owned it since 2010, where it was a daily driver up until the pandemic. Regular maintenance and water pump/thermo replacements and she’s run great with no issues. Since I wasn’t driving during the lockdown and I’m staying fully remote, the car gets way less mileage. To and from the store and joyrides on backroads if I want to open her up. I decided that all of the big maintenance items (new hoses, gaskets, coils, plugs, injectors, etc, long list) needed to get done. I started with the plugs/coils, worked great for 2 weeks and I got misfires on injectors. They’ve never been replaced so I swapped all six. Car is running better than ever. I replaced my HPFP and while I had the intake manifold off I looked… oh yea, major carbon buildup. That sealed the deal. Not sure if you’ve looked at any error codes? Engine sputter sounds like either spark plug, coil, or injector. I’m not a mechanic, but when I had sputter it boiled down to one of the three… oh, or HPFP!!! |
