Well, holy smokes. In reference to my recent post, apparently the new dealer I chose who said I was first on the list actually has another person before me. So I was lied to again. I gave them a non-refundable deposit explicitly because they represented I would be the ONLY person on the list.

BMW dealers give car salesmen a bad name, and that's saying something. I'm an attorney by trade, but I try to not use that part of my brain in my personal life because it's abrasive. After this, I think the gloves have to come off.

Lessons definitely learned. These people are complete snakes.

Edit:

Removed names. My original dealer fixed the issue completely, and I will be getting the next allocation. Apparently my salesman played cute games to rob me of my allocation, and it sounds like he is in some trouble. It pays to be a squeaky wheel.

It's a massive dealership; don't want to give too much info out because they were very helpful today and got me a new allocation for November build. I want to explore if they will ship my car cross country because this delay created a logistics issue as I no longer live in the area near the dealership. I am on the east coast now and not sure if they would have to have the car shipped to the Midwest first and then have it shipped out to me, but I am going to ask if they can at least cover the cost of shipping. I had appointments for ceramic, PPF and tint all lined up and now I am not sure how and when I am going to be able to do that.

I live in Houston TX. Will my M2 be transported on a ship still or driven by truck here? I am guessing delivery will be swift? I think I have the opposite problem of everyone here lol I actually want things to take is sweet time while I get finances together for a hefty down payment. I'm not financing 83K outright. September 26 I received an allocation.

Ship from Mexico to I believe Galveston. Then truck to dealership.

Picked up my car yesterday finally and it's everything I hoped it would be . This thing rips and it's taking everything in my power not to just womp on it before the break in service.

Congrats. I hope I can have your self control when I get mine.

I think I can hold out for 100 miles tops, but not 1000.

I live in a major city (with a lot of BMWs), and didn’t see one in person until I picked mine up over the weekend.

I saw one driving through St Louis in June. Also saw and test drove a demo that was at the local dealership. They are rare but I feel like we will see several by end of year with the factory pumping these out

I've been getting tortured. There is a guy that works at a shopping center I drive by every day. His is sitting in the parking lot most days I drive by.

I'm pretty sure it was the local dealerships HEA car because it's been there since the beginning of the release.

Here's my production status history (update):
111: Jul 27th/28th - Order Received - Build Week 39 (Sept 25)
112: Sept 1 - Scheduled for Production
150: Sept 12 - Production started - Vin# assigned - prodDate: Sept 25
153: Sept 25 - Assembly started
155: Sept 26 - Quality check - prodDate: Sept 26
160: Sept 26 - Final Assembly
165: Oct 1 - Ready For Transport

Now I just need to figure out how to estimate when it will end up on a boat from Mexico to the East Coast (NYCPOA). Is there a way to see what the next boat might be and when? Or is it a complete crap shoot?

Same allocation date. Car has been status 165 since 09/22. Hope you have better luck than me.

Probably not saying much, but I was not impressed by the photos. Seen my first one down in Oklahoma and instantly fell in love.

Using dates from Greg W's spreadsheet I calculated the average of wait times for east coast owners.

Ready To Transport (165) to Departed Port of Exit (195): 22 days
Departed Port of Exit (195) to Arrived at Destination Port (196): 15 Days
Arrived at Destination Port (196) to Arrived at Dealer or PC: 12 Days

On average, it took roughly 49 days to go from Ready to Transport to Arrived at Dealer or PC.

I've been at code 165 since September 19 and expect to be in my car by November 7 if these averages are consistent. Good luck!

You are welcome to check out the east coast thread. Its anyone's guess really but we are having fun speculating in there.
