Where did you buy a replacement part for a left cup holder?

Hello, my left cup holder is broken/stuck and i am looking to replace it with a new part. I was surprised to know that this is very common and learend this is how you're unofficially welcomed into E90 club.

I found some options but really not sure which one of the three to get.

1. Amazon - Dasbecan brand for $22 (LINK: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

2. FCPEuro - URo parts - $46.29 (LINK: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ts-51459173463)

3. FCPEuro - Genuine BMW $73.99 (Link: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ft-51459173463)

I have never heard of Dasbecan and can't really find much info about it but the product's rating seems to be good for half of the cost. However, these positive rating was from Amazon (which is generally hard to trust). URo brand seems new/recent as i cannot find any reviews or info about it and I don't see any 'OE' or 'OEM' sticker either.

For those who replaced your cup holder (left), which brand did you buy and do you recommend it? I was thinking about buying the Genuine BMW one but, given this issue is very common, perhaps it's a huge red flag?

I tired the Uro parts one - it didn’t quite fit and rattled in the dash.

BMW South Atlanta has it slightly cheaper: https://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/...er-51459173463

I ended up going with the genuine one and don’t regret it at all.

Same thing on my car when I got it. All you have to do is disassemble the holder cartridge and pull the retractable spring out. Then you take one of the tiny zip-ties and fix it around the "T" end of the spring once you feed the spring through the hole it broke itself out of.

The zip-tie keeps the spring from falling through. Cheap easy fix.

Never Amazon for anything.

I always go OE from FCP, Genuine from Tischer BMW or quality aftermarket from rockauto.

Thanks everyone!

I will go with the Genuine one and i am so glad i asked lol because that was my last choice (not because of its price). I will try the zip-tie method mentioned by Hoody as well.

Note, if your cup holder does not have the chrome strip, you can transfer the old cover to the new mechanism.

It's a pretty easy fix, and worth trying. Especially if the cupholder looks nice still, no reason to replace IMO.

Not the best picture, but this may help visualize it:
