So if the price is right, you can preserve and throw on some 763Ms on an G87.. 😎

.

G42 M240i gets 763 Gold M performance wheels from 8 series https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1922186
Can't run them without spacers on F & R. The G80/82 are on ET20 F & R. The F87 are F ET29, R ET40. The worst part is that the 763M setup (9J & 10J) is not wide enough to support the new tyre sizes without sacrificing handling. You need wheel widths of at least 9.5J & 10.5J.
Well, what a way to burst my bubble.. 😟

Thanks for the info but If fits a M240i just fine, so I still have a morsel of hope someone will find a workaround with the G87 wheel housing, outside of spacers..

Well pics can technically leak at any point right?

BMWBlog says the initial driving reviews will be out early June.

Yeah the lack of any new info is getting boring. Usually that's when a big leak happens so I'm hoping that's the case soon.

Yep and just like the 3 series they have ditched the traditional gear shifter for the automatic.Looks like the M3 LCI is keeping the shifter,so the G87 will probably also have it.The huge screen looks terrible in the new M3 LCI interior.

Any insider info on if it will have the same/similar manual transmission as the $600K CSL? I am sure BMW spent some time and money for development of the transmission on the 600K car.

What do you think I've been doing all this time?

P.S. Those closeup shots from the ground around that turn are glorious.

Agreed. All they had to do was have the left side of the dash wrap around the damn screen and it would've been great. Maybe an aftermarket solution?

Good idea. We can start harassing..., er, suggesting, to aftermarket suppliers to do something.

Wow someone left their key where the gear shifter should be.

BMW Germany Configurator now shows the M240i RWD (sDrive) model. We can compare the weight between models as a potential indicator of the M2's weight. This is not 1:1 comparison as there are other components on the M2 that are not on the M240i which increase the G87's overall weight.

Note: These are EU weights and are different from how NA models are measured. I'm ignoring the total weight and just focusing on the delta between the two.
  • M240i sDrive Weight: 1,710 kg
  • M240i xDrive Weight: 1,765 kg
  • Difference: 55 kg / 121.25 lbs
The M240i xDrive on the BMW USA website shows the curb weight as 3,871 lbs. Theoretically when the M240i RWD is available on BMW USA website it should weight in roughly 3,750 lbs.
What does that mean for the M2? It'll weight less without the AWD system and since the sunroof is not standard it'll shed a few pounds there as well, but it will gain weight in other areas such as twin turbos, exhaust for both turbos, additional cooling, chassis bracing, etc. So it very well might regain all the weight that was lost. Either way it's going to be a porker.

Literally makes zero sense... there's gotta be a way to design the car with lighter materials and contain the new technology right? It's 2022 why are sports cars almost 4000 lbs???
