It’s okay, color is subjective. We feels what we feel!

I will wholeheartedly agree...its all subjective and opinionated. If its right for the person making the choice, who is to argue. If asked if its right for someone else or their opinion/input is requested, whole 'nother story

I'd take Cognac 10 out 10 over any black interior

Would have liked to see them wrapped in Merino / CF Buckets .
Still a decent chance it returns or they introduce something new in that palette ? (waiting on the official reveal)

Yes, true dat, but there is a difference between a natural looking shade and one that give the appearance of a poorly matched shade of natural orange (maybe if it was called "tanning booth" instead of cognac, some would have less issues ).

In fact I've been giving that some thought myself, given the loss of the cognac interior in the 2025 M2. Also, cognac isn't "brown. Another member here recently posted photos of his cognac interior/black exterior M2. Check it out.
Yes, nobody is going to all of a sudden pay $16k more just to get a certain color seat. Cognac is indeed a shade of brown.

"Cognac is a natural, earthy color with reddish-brown hues. As you may have guessed, this color gets its name from the French variety of brandy."

I've already mentioned my wife's X3MC has Tartufo interior, which is the same color just in better leather. I'm familiar with the interior colors

Ivory/Espresso/Cognac/Tartufo are always more classy and pair better with any exterior than plain boring black.....period.

Red however is tricky depends upon the shade of red and does not pair well with every exterior.

Black is for rental cars.

In the end I will nicely add that color choice is personal

lol so many dudes on here trying to defend BMW for removing options on an already limited lineup. That’s cool if you didn’t like Cognac or TR but grow the fuck up and let people express their frustrations with BMW for removing options they wanted.

Skyscraper Gray on current gen. BMW M3. It's not a new BMW color, but rather a new (for 2025) M2 color.

With the cognac interior being dropped for 2025, I'm changing my exterior color from black to this. I've no use for car with a black interior and exterior. I'll likely go with contrast blue stitching (on the black leather seats) and the red brake calipers.

I loved Space Grey because it was good at hiding how dirty a car is. I'm pretty anal at keeping my cars clean but when you get caught in a storm or don't have time to stay on top of it you really appreciate how low maintenance a light grey color is.
Great point! I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to having a clean car, and that’s definitely one of the reasons I’ve loved owning Space Grey cars. It’s also a beautiful color, still look back at mine when I walk away haha.

I know someone in my community that has a Skyscraper i4. Maybe I’ll try and line my E92 up with his and post a picture.

I couldn't find any side by side pics of the two colors online so if you did snap some pics it'll be a first and much appreciated.

Thanks yeah I’m aware Skyscaper has been around for a few years. Real bummer about losing out on Cognac for 2025. I’ve never seen it in person, but in the visualizer it looks a little dull but in real-life pictures it almost looks like Cinammon, with that beautiful dark orange hue.

I would have gone with ZB, Cognac and red calipers, but having to spec one the variations of black is not a dealbreaker I suppose. Hopefully the new black w/red surprises me

I went with black interior with M highlights but Tartufo looks good too. Black is more sporty and Tartufo is more luxury/executive. I prefer the sporty look. I had an 03 350z black with Burnt Orange interior and it was nice’. Reminds me of Bsm and cognac

"Nobody."

I still remember the time someone told me that "nobody makes more than seventy (thousand dollars a year)." That was in 1994 or so. While it was true that the large majority of Americans made less than that amount, a substantially percentage still made more - in some cases much, much more.

Again, with the elimination of the cognac interior in the 2025 M2, the slew of interior colors available in the M4 will sway some people to step up to an M4 - not just for the color change itself but also for more car overall.

There's a still a possibility of my doing that once the 2025 M2 configurator comes on line - particular if the dealership is willing to give me a larger discount on the M4.

Sadly, cognac is not offered in the M4.

Now go to the M4 site and compare those brown seats to the M2's cognac. They are very different colors, sir. The M4 also offers many other nice interior/seat colors including white.

It's great they are adding additional colors to the available palette, but it's unfortunate that they couldn't do something dynamic like Thundernight. I have it on the G42 and I have never received more attention with any other color I've owned, including Valencia orange on the 1 M, which is also very energetic.

While I like Portimao blue, I would have to go the Individual route if I were to flip the G42 for the G87.

I wouldn't mind Thundernight again if that is an option, but more than likely I would transition back to Le Mans blue which I had on my first E82.

For me it is the sweet spot when it comes to the spectrum of BMW blues. I like it because it is always medium blue, no matter the ambient lighting conditions, day or night. It's never blue-green, nor blue-purple, nor blue-black. Just dead-on blue, and not too much blue like I find with San Marino. I understand lots of guys love that color, but it's just an OD of blue to my eyes.

That being said, I am sure SMB would be a knockout on the G87.

All in all, if Individual is indeed 100% confirmed I think it's a great call on BMW's part. It would be great to see the additional buzz and chatter on this board that it would cause, as well as the posting of everyone's favorite Individual color.

I think most of us of love pictures; lot and lots of pictures. The more, the better. I actually like them better than reading most of the banter on most forums.

I am not a particular fan of the G8#, but I find myself there more than here mainly because they have the Individual color options to choose from.

Adding Individual would definitely be a coup for the M2. Now it makes me wonder if that portal will also be opened to the G42.

Personally, I wouldn't fork out anything extra if Thundernight remains a standard option, but I am sure lots of people will swarm to the Individual program just so they have something entirely different from the mainstream.

Using the configurator to say two colors are very different, ok. Which one is cognac and which is tartufo?

Cognac is the one where it looks like a pumpkin exploded inside the vehicle. Had an X5 delivered that the dealer messed the order up and took one look at the interior and we said reorder it.

Tartufo looks like a nice rich brown on the other hand:
