My car finally stopped perpetually “searching for upgrade” all on its own. Though it insists that no update is available. But I am over it anyway, doesn’t sound like anything to be excited about anyhow, so hopefully we get something cool in the next update

Problem is if the car misses an update it will no longer be able to complete any of the ota updates in the future. You will have to go to dealership to have them done

Curious how many people use the weather app … I have never seen the use for it. I typically check weather on the phone before leaving and if looking for update while driving I can ask Siri to tell me current weather.

same. have weather on my apple watch/iphone. i only have the nav and mybmw status as widgets.

I use it bc I prefer iDrive over Carplay/Android auto

Update went fine. The weather app was back up before I even got to the end of my street.

After days of being stuck on the upload complete step, the in vehicle install kicked off on 3/9. Seems like BMW pushed the update out to more vehicles that day. I also noted a change and marginal improvement to the steering. The steering seems to track straight ahead and self center a little better at city and highway speeds. A welcome improvement as I felt the return to center on this vehicle is subpar. Felt like I was always sawing at the wheel keeping the car in the lane.

So I made the mistake of updating an hour before I left work and then it bricked my car. I couldn't start it what so ever and it left my lights and speedometer on. The iDrive screen is completely black. Had to unplug the battery just so it didn't die.. oh and did I mention all in the middle of a blizzard. The instructions say that the car will not work for 20 mins after the install is started. Also engine needs to be cool for it to start. I was worried about doing the upload before setting off due to this.

Us spec m240i ,got the update on Saturday and it successfully installed no problems cant wait to take it for a ride to see how the steering feels now

Does your auto start from key for still work? Pressing bmw logo 3 times use to turn my car on. Does it for you?

You need to reactivate remote start in the menu after the update.

"Remote Engine Start" will be deactivated after running a "Remote Software Upgrade" EVERY TIME, so you will have to go into the climate control - preconditioning- remote engine start, and check the box again to re-activate the feature.

Mine finally updated tonight. Gave me a notification while driving. I parked and sat in pitch black 4am or so and told it to update. Took about 20 min as it said it would. Was interesting to watch unfold. Most of the time all the orange interior lights were on and nothing else. Random this and that would flash or go black and back on, a few strange noises, hazards would work sometimes and max defrost would sometimes. When it finished I was still in the car and so I immediately started it up and started driving away. I made it maybe 60’ or so and the red lights on the bottom of the mirror start blinking. I went to peek if the weather app worked, it didn’t yet, and then with the engine running and driving, the alarm and sirens went off! I hit unlock on the keyfob and it stopped. Took me a brief moment to even realize what was happening. Hilarious. A minute later, weather worked and all back to normal. Cannot believe the alarm went off while driving. Through the entire process I never opened the door or anything, maybe something to do with security staying active

I recently did the .60 update without a hitch, yesterday I was playing around with iDrive and it now reads 11/2022.63 if it is indeed an update it did it in the background without any notice. Any info on this?

I have a 2022 230i w/ID7 running version 11/2021.40, surely that's not the latest update right? Anyone know what the most recent update is? (car claims it's up to date)
