Probably worth the wait...if you got that kind of patience. I am waiting on a 230 now, but will revisit getting a 2WD M240 or M2 in 18-24 months. Life's short!

I honestly don't know if I'd personally order an M240 now due to all the things that they keep taking off from shortages. Specifically heads up. But that also would make me weary of waiting on the M2 and what may/may not be available then. Tough decision all around.

I wonder if we can wait an additional few weeks and get those items or we're just stuck without them at this point?

Have you seen any more movement? If you don't mind me asking, are you doing PCD or getting it delivered to your dealer? If dealer where are you located? |

It’s being delivered to my dealer in the Pacific Northwest. I assume that means it’s ultimately getting loaded on a boat? |

And to the best that I can decipher from reading through the 3-series forum, a boat is it's next destination. I'm in the Southeast and looks like whenever mine does make it to the boat it will be unloaded in Georgia and then (I assume hauled) to my dealer in Alabama. |

Put my order in here at work on 9/15/21. It looks like it moved to "Production Begins" between 9/29-10/2. From our experience here, the que takes about 15 days. We had a preproduction floor model take about 2.5 months from body assembly to at-port for shipping.
Got everything except leather seats, adaptive cruise, and the performance wheel package (getting TE37 in matte blue gunmetal). May decide to add the carbon interior and wheel cover, carbon grille, side skirts and mirror caps at the port. Hoping to have a custom Ti exhaust setup and springs/coils in by the Spring. |

Put in my order on 9/8/21. Currently sitting at "production begins". I did add remote engine start and the premium package so I am not sure if those additional electronics will factor into longer production times for mine.

I ordered a week before you, and add everything besides the upgraded tire/brake package. Haven't had any holds thus far. Good luck!

I'm going to call tomorrow. I'm trying to keep it to once a week both to keep from annoying the geniuses too much and also for my own sanity. But it's clear that they have access to a lot more detail, and I've gotten the impression that even what the tracking site shows is not always 100% up to date.

UPDATE 2: Checking today (10/12) and I'm being "Assembled" . Dealer sent me a screen shot of his data...shows production date of 10/11. That makes no sense and I'm assuming that's a default entry. UPDATE 3: Checking back in today (10/12) and my car has hit the "Quality Check" phase; booking right along. Also, another dealer update...he says the real wait from here is getting it shipped; about 2-4 weeks. His specific event reference was "finish production" too "getting on a boat". UPDATE 4: Checking today (10/14) my 230 moved to the Final Assembly step. UPDATE 5: Today's news (10/19), after 5 days in "Final Assembly" and now "Ready for Transport"! I guess the car is all built, checked and tweaked. UPDATE 6: Today, on 10/28, my car went through two steps and is now at "Dispatch from Factory." It was "Ready for Transport" since the 19th. This matches G42Bama's timing too. My car will be shipping to the Port of Baltimore. I am predicting that'll be well be about 10-14 days. UPDATE 7: Today on Nov 1st, my car moved to "In Transit." This was somewhat confirmed in that the assigned ship pull pierside to load up the cars after the ship was at anchor from Oct 27 until this morning. On its way soon! Dealer said arrival to the port (Baltimore) is Nov 12th. Last edited by Dinosoar; 11-01-2021 at 06:13 PM.. Reason: Update on delivery |

You that are getting close, do you know if there is an official release date set when customer deliveries are allowed? Unfortunately BMW has a history of holding back cars until a specific release date is passed.
