I am really not sure. My car's production date was 8/20 and is affected by the stop sale. I am awaiting more information from the GM.

oh ok, so it seems for now all 2 series for sure and potentially maybe all 3 series , 4 series , etc ...
thanks for clarification!

yes, was trying to figure out if my car is also affected by the stop sale because since last week and until now I wasn't notified by my SA about it but also I didn't pick it up yet (since it seems the car is on its way to the dealership now ) so most probably I might be affected as well...

I haven’t heard from him at all about anything

Actually I get more and better information from my friends here on this forum

Thanks Brother! Honestly I felt as though they were just trying to avoid promising anything until they're absolutely sure. Honestly, I'm inquiring about a Merc tomorrow in case this drags on to November. BMW has me pretty ticked off to say the least.

As for which cars are affected by the stop. My sales manager (soon to be former lol) mentioned that 7 cars were stopped at his dealership and mine was the only 2-series.

This part is very odd, as those two things have nothing to do with each other

Others that are do PCD what are your feelings on this? Obviously if you were close to your PCD date you have already done the paperwork/money portion and now you cannot take your car home for who knows how long.
Fortunately for me, I did not complete the paperwork. I was literally in the showroom yesterday for that purpose when the call came. FWIW I am happy to avoid the mess of getting the paperwork straightened out.

Dealer has been really understanding and agreed to reimburse me for my travel costs (around $300), trying to parlay that into a "cost" deal on snow tires and BMW wheels.

I am concerned about the timing of a November fix - as I do have the performance tires, any snowfall would make the drive home (Wisconsin for me) a not-so-fun adventure. The later it goes, the higher the risk.

At this point, I am waiting to hear more from dealer...not much any of us can do but wait...again!

Hopefully they take care of ya! I was planning on driving the car back to Michigan but that is no longer an option. As it stands for me right now with what I have worked out with my CA, I am planning on doing the exact same PCD experience Friday as planned (other than taking possession of my car) and I will be reimbursed plane tickets home instead of driving my car home. My car will then be shipped back to my local dealership and await the fix. He also mentioned pushing for more later if the fix drags on as the car has been purchased and signed for already. Was not my first choice but I feel like they have made a good effort to accommodate me and my guest.

I also have the performance tires and was hoping to get some time in on them before putting snow tires on, but that looks grimmer everyday lol.

Does anyone know if this effects idrive 7 vs 8 or anything like that? I have a 2023 230 xdrive that's ready for transport, wondering if this will delay it.

From earlier in the thread...

BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective September 23, 2022) on certain Model Year 2022 - 2023 BMW vehicles that were produced between August 24, 2021 and September 24, 2022.

If it's impacting cars built in 2021, it's not an iDrive 7 versus 8 thing.

Someone more familiar with these things will have to weigh in but I'd say there's a good chance these cars sit at the VPC until they are fixed. Either way, even if it does get to your dealer, you're not getting it until it gets fixed.

If you look closely, the date ranges imply it really *is* an iDrive 8 thing. The only vehicle affected before this summer is the i4 gran coupe, which has always had iDrive 8. G42 is unaffected prior to 6/24/2022, which is right around when they switched to iDrive 8.

My guess would be a software bug which doesn't automatically pop up the backup cam under some circumstance. This would violate US safety standards (FMVSS 111), hence the stop sale.

That additional info was posted after my post. Before that, there was no indictation of the cars or specific dates. It looks like you're right.
