Anyone actually on the fence?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com My F87C is such an awesome car, at a great price, that I have a hard time believing that the G87 will be that much better than the F87. I get the argument that it is newer, with better tech, and a more powerful motor. But on the flip side, it will undoubtedly cost more, maybe substantially more, weigh more, have smaller brakes, a more cramped cabin, substantially smaller rear seating area, and maybe have some polarizing looks (good or bad). So I suppose my question is, is anyone else waiting on details before plunging down money? This could be the G80/82 fiasco all over again.

Well, for me, i am def interested in the car. For me, I am not going to be buying when it first goes up for sale as I am paying off my wife's new car (I personally do not like having more than 1 car loan) so I was always going to wait. When I am ready to make a car purchase for myself the M2 will already have been out for a while and I will be able to compare it to other cars that I am also considering.

I am getting one unless it is to cramped for me. No other sport coupe to compare to or keep.

It's pretty much a done deal for me. Sold the Audi and there's nothing else I'm looking at.
Just impatiently waiting on options, pricing, and of course a full reveal. |

You needed one more option in the poll for some of us that will be getting the G87 and also keeping our F87.

I'm still on the fence. Have a $1k deposit down. 1st in line at the stealership. MSRP in writing. Fully refundable until build starts/VIN produced. Really enjoying my M240. Not too sure about the new dash screen. Not sure I need to spend $20K+ for power/performance features I'll rarely use. But time is on my side.

I'm committed. Sold my 2018 F82 and I have a deposit placed at my dealer. #1 on the list at MSRP in writing

Not on the fence and not interested in the G87. Keeping my F87 M2C.
It has low miles, looks like new, drives great, and I prefer the styling compared to the G87. |

The only thing I'm on the fence about is using my first in line allocation to buy ASAP, or wait until a comp version or LCI. But I will have the G87 in some form.

I'm further back than on the fence. I'm not considering getting a G87.
First of all I do think it's premature to commit before the official reveal, though of course everyone can always back out. I'm confident the G87 will be faster and have some features that I wish my F87 had. But I love my F87 comp. It's more than fast enough for me, fun enough for me, and looks absolutely stunning. I don't think I'd find a good reason to replace it with a G87. I don't care too much for future resale value but I do think the F87 will age better. If nothing else, the analog gauge cluster will be a positive differentiator many years on. Overall my plan is to pay off the F87 and then get an electric car as a daily driver and keep the F87 around as a weekend car that will remind me about "the good old days" in the years and decades to come. We'll see though. |

F87 is gone.
Don't plan on getting the G87 immediately. I want to see what the competition model has to offer before I decide. I'm in no hurry, I may wait for the LCI too, but that may kill me. That said, I love the folks on the M2 forum. Members here are just more down to Earth and real car guys/gals, unlike the posers in the other forums. I was all over the F87 forum since its inception, but now that the F87 has been out of production for a while that forum has become a bit lame and boring. You have a ton of new members asking the same tired old questions that were answered years ago. Entropy has started to take root there; now it's common to find stupid threads asking stupid questions like what watches do you like, or something to that effect. Yikes! I can't stand nut flexing contests or inane discussions which made me jump ship first chance I got. I enjoy technical discussions, serious car talk, learning new things about cars, etc. That's why as soon as the G87 forum was started I setup shop here. But I digress. Am I on the fence? Yes, the fence of fuck yeah! |

I am keeping my F87 M2 Comp. My plan is to also wait and see till I see the new M2 on the streets, there are plenty of reviews on the car, etc.
Hopefully at that point, the car market will be back to "normal" again too. I feel that many times, we jump on the next new thing, assuming it will be "more" / "better". Its human nature. Unless you are planning on tracking the car, I don't think the power difference with the new M2 model will be usable on the streets per se. I also like the looks of the current M2 Comp better ( personal opinion, being the new M240 my reference). I don't care about better technology much, honestly I barely use the tech features that the current generation brings. Excited to see the new M2 hitting the dealers though and see how successful it is. |

100% interested, however I am absolutely on the fence simply because I would love to own a GT4. Getting a GT4 for MSRP is the main issue for me at the moment. I don't believe in paying mark ups

I would also like a GT4. The ones I saw had about 30-50% markup. This was on used and new. Although not sure if there are actually new ones sitting around on the lot. Perhaps on order. Anyway, I'm not paying a premium mark-up on a toy for my carhole.

Yup it's been pretty nasty recently. I inquired about a few and haven't even gotten responses back when I mention I would be interested in moving forward at MSRP
