I'd say you're in 'peak' coupe family size, they're not tall teenagers yet and also don't need car seats and buckles sorting out by you.

I'd say all good go for it but if possible check a G42 to see the space.
Thanks! Looking forward to checking it out with the family once it is revealed in the flesh at dealerships.

Thanks for the info! May ask, what is your height?

My wife is only 5ft exactly so I’m guessing my eldest son could sit behind my wife’s seat until at least his early teens.

M4 is easily 4 adults as long as not too many are 6'2 plus.

Back of the new G series 2 is quite a different proposition from the F series. I had a 235i and M2 (same size of course) and it was zero compromise for a family of 4.

I'm not so sure this time around.
It's weird. I don't think the roofline is THAT much better to sacrifice back seat usability and yet that is what they did. It's a bit of a bummer as my kids get taller.

Lots of minutes and very little content. Zero mention on the laggy paddle shift response on auto. Zero footage of turn-ins but abundance of straight line acceleration... Is this a review or a marketing video?

Yeah I'm well aware of all the reviews that came out after their track day in Austra. But this was posted two days ago.

To all the folks stressing about the backseat being a downgrade - it's really not that significant of a difference from last gen; if those worked for you and your passengers then you'll be fine.

Worth nothing the front seat space is very generous. A simple adjustment of the seat position and my kids (including 17 year old 5'9" son) are perfectly fine.

That steering column is fully extended! The driver either has very short arms or is sitting in the rear passenger’s seat.

Summary:
  • "weight increase, but that was a choice + power bump";
  • "it's a proper M car" (however, without specifying all supposed parameters for that statement).
Wanna see a "proper review" about a BMW M prototype ? Here's the one of Chris Harris driving a 1M prototype in Autumn 2010: brief and to the point:

He's always been a fantastic and honest reviewer. It's no wonder he's killing it at Top Gear.

Cannot stand Top Gear ever since the OG team disbanded. The chemistry between Clarkson, Hammond and May can never be replicated again IMO. I much prefer watching Chris Harris' YouTube reviews. I also love anything Jason Cammisa does. Imagine a show with the two of them together, that would be amazeballs.

Nope, I cannot see a huge and ugly curved tablet like the one presented in my F87…
Is this optional on the future M2 ?
