E92 N54 - ABS/DSC hydraulics block replacement
Hi,
I had repeatedly problems with the pump motor of my DSC Unit. Now I could get a used hydraulics block with motor in good condition and I want to swap these parts but keeping my old ECU. The Part numbers are different but the dimensions are identically and the new hydraulics block is also engraved with „1078“ … so I think this will match. I read the hydraulic valves must be calibrated when used with another ECU, is this true? Which Software is needed to perform this calibration or can this be done at the BMW dealer? I know bleeding has to be done with inpa, I did this before. Alternatively, I could swap the complete unit (ECU, block and Motor), then I had to code the new ECU to my car. Is this easier with common software (Inpa and such)? Thanks, Ben |

Hi again,
got a list of possibly compatible DSC Parts of 6-Cylinder E9x, with the crimped pump motor (listed at end of this thread). I bought a used unit with the number "1078" on the hydroblock (just as on my old block) and installed my old ECU on it. Basically, I was following this video: Link After building in the fixed unit, I bleeded the system using INPA and made a testdrive. No failures were coming of, ABS, DSC and DTC were working fine. Calibration of DSC-ECU or its hydro-valves was not asked by the car. The INPA status of DSC Sensors and DSC pressure Senores was in range ... Everything is lookin fine. The guy in the Video throw in, that a calibration of DSC might be required if there is active steering and/or e-powered steering in place. My car does not have one of these, maybe it works without any calibration at my car. If not, I will update here ...
