I'm in Austin, so not far at all. That's good news about the insurance! The other thread had me pretty concerned about what I was seeing for sure. Hey, if you're loving it, I guess it's alright! Even if it bumps your head around a bit occasionally! Maybe the wait is for me to enjoy it more when I finally get it. |

LOL
I wish! I checked in with my CA and he said his GM found out that it was assigned to a carrier but didn't ever get loaded. Apparently, there were more cars going to the bigger dealerships that took precedence. UGH. I'll just wait...(like I have another choice!) haha |

Status 195: in transit
Whew. Called Genius number just to see what they say, and they said it got loaded today and ETA to dealership is tomorrow. I will wait to contact CA until tomorrow (I think it's his day off). Likely schedule a time to take delivery on Saturday. Almost there! |

Mine was built on the 26-27th, and has been Ready for transport since then. It sounds like it could be quite a while before they actually assign it to a carrier. 😢

Naaaaa, first time I drove an M2 was taking delivery of it. Signed it out, drove it out of their service isle and down the road very carefully in +3 degree weather.

Yeah, mine was in that "ready for transport" for over 3 weeks. Maybe halfway to a ship at this point?

I've been on the forums a little while now, and I actually don't really see many people mentioning anything about a test drive before taking delivery. I don't envy that weather! |

I assume the vast majority drives the car before buying it. That’s why it’s not discussed as much, it’s a given to test drive before buying a car. |

As for winter here, it's been a very warm one just like much of the country. We had about 10 days of dogshit weather in January and that was around the time frame I drove the car home. Quite the change from last year's winter which was the 3rd snowiest on record. People find it hard to believe the extreme temperature swings we can have here. Record high air temp is +115F and record low air temp is -60F (175 degree temp swing between records) which is quite remarkable considering the state is relatively flat (lowest point 600 ft above sea level and highest 2,301 feet above sea level). North and South Dakota are even a tad bit more extreme than that and the rest of the states that are more extreme have mountainous areas in them. Anyway, enough of the meteorological talk lol

New here to the forum, but thought I'd drop some info I got from a BMW Genius yesterday. My build was completed on 2/21 and has been sitting in "Ready for Transport" for 2.5 weeks. The Genius told me that he had confirmation that the vehicle had left the plant and was enroute to the port. From everything that I have seen from other peoples builds, is we are super close. I'm estimating like another week to week and a half before we are on our way to the states. I think someone posted not to long ago that there is a schedule vehicle cargo ship scheduled for departure from Veracruz 3/19

I'm pretty sure my m340i sat in ready for transport until it was actually on a boat, their system doesn't update well in this part of the process.
I also confirmed with mygenius a couple days ago that my car is either en route to port or already there, also sitting on "ready for transport". |

Those weather swings are crazy. We get swings all the time, but not quite that drastic! |

CA sent me these pics this morning after they came off the truck.
Then he called to make an appointment for tomorrow to go pick it up. It's happening! |
