Moonroof rabbit hole

So a few weeks ago I had the glass tinted all around. Side note, this new fangled nano ceramic tint wizardry is awesome stuff. Anyway, the installer said he didn't do the moonroof and wanted time to investigate a case of an M2 roof shattering during install. I went back recently for a ppf inspection and asked about finishing the tint and I was told that the installer was made aware of 3 instances of roofs shattering during install. The interwebs seem to indicate that this is myth and I can't wrap my head around how or why this would happen, but can't figure out why my installer wouldn't want more of my money. Any thoughts or experience with this?

Just curious why you’d want to tint it when you can close the sunshade if you didn’t want sun to come in.

I always thought the glass came tinted.

Surprisingly, even with the shade closed, this is the only panel that you can feel the heat radiating in. This is my first time utilizing this new fangled tint and it is wierd that even with the sun glaring through the windscreen, you feel no heat, but you can feel it overhead. It isn't awful, I'm not upset about it. I'm more curious than anything.

If you believe the sunroof glass shattering during a tint operation is a myth then offer to in writing release the tint installer from any responsibility in case the sunroof does break.

I've had every installer, on every car I've ever had with a sun/moon/panoramic roof, refuse to tint it. Not saying it's impossible, but they must have their reasons.
