They're going for China Market…

Really dislike the "new" grill. An old Pontiac grill picked up from a local junkyard?

I found the inspiration for the tacky side accent things.

Who TF is designing this garbage for BMW? It used to be a classy brand with taste... The base car is OK, but it's like these performance parts are BEGGING you not to buy them.

The only parts I really dislike are the weird roof winglets and the JDM rear wing. That said, these are all optional parts. I would much rather invest in lighter forged wheels. According to German AMS, a set of M2 standard wheels is ~20 lbs heavier than the M4 wheel set and this despite being smaller sized.

Worse than expected, and thanks to the G8X performance parts, they were low. What's up with the M2 on the hood?

Let's be honest, it's very bad.

So this is for someone that was cross shopping between a last gen Type R and the new M2 but also for someone whom always wanted a Subaru

I guess these new BMW designers had 90/00 JDM posters in their bedrooms

There's that high spoiler!

The whole package looks like a mess, but would love to see just the spoiler in the same body color from multiple angles.

My advice to all F87 owners of all specs, keep it until you can afford a Porsche, I will never return to the brand at this rate, it saddens me.
You know this is exactly what I'm doing. Will keep my F87 M2 forever, turn it into a race car or something - a pure weekend only car and just get something different as a daily.

That's simple answer…they are targeting the „wealthier audience" in the asian markets that want a German premium car

That's not only for this car…but you see that in a lot of models released over the last few years.

M Performance Parts For New M2 - First Look

I think these Chinese market comments are nonsense.

This is it man. This is now German BMW styling, not a plan to cater to the Asian market.

Repeatedly rationalizing poor design choices by saying it's an appeal to Asian markets is getting old. Love it or hate it, BMW has carved this niche intentionally and should now be accepted as overstyled BMW specific styling. Honestly no one is designing cars like this, not even Asian car makers.

Rear is definitely giving last-gen Civic Type-R vibes. Styling will need some time to grow on me :

WTF?? I missed the roof spoiler because of the rest of this hot mess.
I said it when the full M performance parts package came out for the G80 and I'll say it again for this disaster: I'd rather be seen in the new Civic Type R.
No more waiting "for it to get better". Time to move onto a P-car…

Rennlisters are a bit odd but apart from that going from Munich to Stuttgart has no disadvantages.

Instead of M Performance Parts they should maybe rename to M Lifestyle Division because I can't imagine any of these parts have any performance benefit or even wind tunnel tested?? It's probably creating more drag than performance lol.
