Idk if it’s just me but every new M2 looks like the front bumper and hood just don’t match as in color match, idk if it’s the materials or what but every time I see a picture the colors don’t seem to match

Looks amazing and although doesn’t have the sexy lines and curves and eyes of the F87, it looks more muscular and more grown up… plus sounds a ton better than F87C

That front bumper shape you’re referring to started in the 2000’s iirc. Mirrors weren’t always a thing either, even on the e36 here. Pretty sure the only thing that’s ‘always been a thing’ is that they’ve been great to drive. I was gonna say 4 wheels but there’s bikes too lol

I wasn't wrong at all. I ate my crow and bought an M3. I could get (and would have gotten) over every criticism of the M2 except for one thing. It's made in Mexico. And just like I don't buy German tequila, I'm not buying a Mexican made BMW. Scream at me all you want, but that was a step too far for me. I'd have happily paid $10k more for a German made M2.

IMO, it’s the bumpers committing the worst crimes here. And the 3,800 lb weight is ridiculous; heavier than a 5 series used to be. Though I do suppose BMW deserves a pat on the back for offering this in RWD/6MT format.

God help us when the M2 is only offered with an auto and xDrive. You’ll have a 4,000 lb 2’er on your hands.
Success = an up to 1.5 year wait for this M2 now. Yes utterly ugly lol!!

Go see it in person and test it. Please inform us then.

I saw it in person the other day and it put a smile on my face. Loved it. But I know nothing about car design, hood lines or A pillars. It just looks like an aggressive fun car.

1 - I'm definitely buying a G87.

2 - The car has good presence and overall shape is aggressive and distinctive.

3 - The details are not very attractive - specially the rear exclamation point and the front lower air inlet.

On balance: M4-level performance, in a tidier package and $14K less is a win.

Equals zero potential of a better made machine lol.

No one cares if your German car is 'made in Germany' overall. At least not here in Germany lol.

Im quite pleased to see my M2 when it arrives from Mexico!

My 22 M240i is superb - so to Mexico I SAY GRACIAS!!

To you - I say GROW UP LOL!

Germany has been at the top for so long until the current trends on economics and environment policies of the Euro zone. Still good especially in design and engineering. However, It can only go in one direction: down.

Mexico is hungry. It's regular citizen are extremely hard working and their trend is up.

The world is changing. Keep up with it.

I doubt you would, really.

You are probably typing/reading this forum on a Chinese built iPhone or PC.

Fact is that an iPhone built in China has a much higher quality than if Apple tried to build it in America at the same volumes. Hopefully it will change in the future, but right now the supply chain and skilled labor is not here - it is in Asia for consumer electronics.

These global A-list brands like Hermes, Apple, BMW know how to have exacting standards wherever they locate their (or partner) production facility.

I for one am happy if BMW could launch the M240i/M2 faster because it takes less time to build a plant in Mexico than in Germany. And if it costs less to produce it in Mexico, it means BMW could spec all the M3/M4 components on the M2 for their chosen price points.

It's a win all around.

Actually , the hood line above the grill thing was used in the 70s on the legendary E9 ! And to be honest its one of the best design elements on the F87 where it has that triangle also. On the G87 its a bit different cause of the grill and the hood but its still there , and i love it . 70s

When it comes to certain types of vehicles, buyers do care about where it was made. I doubt many Porsche enthusiast would be excited to purchase a non-German made Porsche. Also good luck selling a Ferrari or Lamborghini that wasn't made in Italy. A non UK made McLaren wouldn't sell either.

I'm seeing BRZ/GR86 mixed with Tesla right there.
