Looks like we may see a fair number of G87s on track in the near future. That is not something we saw with the F87 generation.

Another update for posterity. Even though the BMW site still says my M2 is in port, I just received (11:17PM) a transportation doc indicating the truck de left the yard 3 hrs ago with 5 cars destined to my dealer.

Race against time, but small chance of delivery tomorrow, before I fly out for Xmas vacation.

We shall see. But either way, my M2 seems to finally be out of the NJ VPC, after a 28 day stay.

The transportation doc is pretty detailed and cool, with places to indicate preloading damage, unloading damage, etc. My M2 is riding with an i7, 2 X3s and an X1.

Let’s see what happens.

Closing update....It had to be a dreary cold and rainy day (rain next 72 hrs), but she is finally home, and drying in the garage.

Of Note: M Performance (HAS) Suspension is great. Firmer but never crashy or uncomfortable. Lower, but not too low that you have to constantly worry about scraping. Steering wheel was centered, tools were in the trunk, but no alignment sheet. Also got MPS4S tires, and grip was great in 40F rain.

Final Stats:
Allocation: July 29th
Order Received: July 29th
Scheduled for Production: Sep 8th
Target Production Week: 40 (early October)
Production: Oct 4
Ready for Transport: Oct 6
Boarded Glovis Sunrise at Veracruz: Nov 6 (1 month wait)
Arrived PoNY-Bayonne: Nov 21
Shipped out of NJ VPC: Dec 20 (1 month wait, most of it with the open HAS install)
Arrived Dealer: Dec 20 (of course I started my Christmas trip that day and was in Mexico)
Delivery: Dec 17th
No issues to far

P.S. 17 year old daughter got a late Xmas present and got to drive it.

Has exceed my expectations. Even put the back seat to use and no one complained back there.

Car handles very nicely. Hard to keep it under 5,000 RPM, though.

When I came to pickup my M2, there was a small crowd around it. And one older gentleman turned to me as I opened the door and said “Wow that is a nice ride” …. immediately followed by “Is it electric?”

The 6th will came in a flash, and you will love it.

I couldn't bring myself to pick up the car unprotected with all the salt they were spreading in the northeast on Saturday and after driving in the afternoon I feel like I made the right call, so Thursday is the day!!

M performance lip spoiler arriving on Wednesday, PPF, tint and ceramic booked for Friday. Needless to say, I don't think I can physically tolerate waiting any longer!

I was very worried about my TR choice leading up to delivery but I LOVE it now, so much so that I switched to full PPF. Zero regrets.

And 2 beautiful days to drive on Thu and Fri. I crossed 800 miles today hitting every curvy road around.
