Please let us know how it goes. I plan to get some PPF and am looking at this shop (assuming I am guessing correctly, LOL).

She's home!!!! And shes not leaving the garage until next Monday for the PPF appointment. Will definitely be applying track wrap just for that extra peace of mind.

Ouch! Sorry man.

I'm not certain how long track wrap can be left on yet, but that makes me more curious. I'll be sticking to surface streets at least until I track wrap mine to take to PPF (if I go out of state).

I've got some Xpel trac wrap on order. I believe it should be quality enough to not have to worry about ripping the clear coat off, but I will be cautious.

First time I'm hearing about STEK.

Is that becoming the new standard for quality PPF?

My options are getting the chip repainted or they suggested using black ppf to cover both sides. Said it would look more aggressive but I can’t visualize it lol. Think I might go with painting as it will need to be done eventually.

Cost to paint and blend is double that of ppfing both sides.

Stek, Xpel are both big.

Also check out Kavaca. From the makers of Ceramic Pro.

I believe the risk with leaving track wrap or any of those temporary PPF too long is extreme heat can bake the adhesive in and cause some problems. This is with an old car with old paint but just something to keep in mind

Dang nice price. I am paying $5k for xpel front end, cf roof, rockers and full 20% ceramic tint as well as getting m2 badge and spoiler installed.

Now I got hit with $950 to repaint a BAD rock chip. There goes my front lip this month…

It sucks man, but don't stress it too hard. That rock chip is gnarly, like others said, not sure if PPF would have even been able to stop that.

On the bright side when it's all done your bumper will be brand new and it'll be protected.

I’m considering going with a mad max style bumper to prevent future rock chips!

Ironically if there was an ugly leather bra available for our cars, I'd rock that all the way to the PPF shop no questions asked.

This time I'm PPF-ing the entire car. I picked up my car this week and drove it right to the detailer. Current cost is $5500. It sounds steep, but in my opinion worth every penny in peace of mind.

Workodactyl I'm in NJ too. Can I ask who you used? That price is a bit better than what I'm being quoted.

Yup, she's definitely getting some track wrap for the trip to the detail shop Monday. Until then she's not even gonna see the road.

Probably smart. You could always get lucky like I did and hit a deer prior to getting PPF but somehow escape with zero damage lol.

Will do- my appointment is next Thursday. Should take 1-2 weeks with the master himself over there (I am limited on how much I can talk about it lol. They may jack my price up!)

Based on my research, STEK was the only brand that I could not find a single complaint on.
XPEL seems solid, but my PPF guy said that he has worked with STEK, XPEL, and Suntek, and he said STEK takes the cake.
